good Brimstone Rd bridge and back 7.01 mi 01:01 08:45 pace

I set out hoping to do 7 miles today as the longest run I've done since my 'half' last October. Felt great finishing that distance. Running 3-4 miles for weeks made me wonder how far back I'd fallen. I feel like I've kept enough of a mileage base to get back up in mileage when I'm looking to do a longer race. 24 degrees with a good breeze and snow flurries but not a bad day for running.

I crossed the 2,000 mile mark earlier this week after 2 years on DM. I was hoping to be there by December 31st (1,000 mile/yr) but missed by a few days. Certainly hoping to be at 3,000 by the end of this year to keep the yearly average in check. My calf injury last April/May set me back but no excuses...I should have hit it by the 31st.

Looking forward to spending the rest of the day and weekend with Jo-Anna and I hope you all enjoy your weekend as well!

Excellent run, Gary. That's a great pace, too. Getting back up to longer distances after a race is always the worst, but totally rewarding once it's done.

I just want you to know that both you and Jo encourage me to go on. You guys are such an inspiration to Den. He really is motivated by all your comments. I can't believe he did a 10K the other day. WOW! He's feeling great and is really looking forwared to continuing. So I think the two of us will be working hard and continue our journey!!! You guys will be a part of that!

Amazing 2000 miles and your goal is 3000? You'll need a few oil changes. Ha.. I'm super impressed. I'm with you, I haven't ran much longer than 6 miles since Smutty and want to build back up. Nice run

Just to clarify, Debi. 1,000 miles per year. Hit 2,000 total after 2 years on DM and want to be at 3,000 total by the end of this year. Just an average of 1,000 per year.
