Marathon #2 is complete- not a bad way to spend my birthday! This was a huge PR over my first marathon...a 26 minute PR to be exact. I'm thrilled!

Here's my disjointed race report (I'm feeling a little wiped, so sorry if it makes no sense!) I started out a bit too fast, especially because the first part of the race was the hilliest section and I probably pushed too hard there...but I felt good so I kept at it. I'm very thankful I live in a hilly area, because I really felt good on some decent inclines. Mile 18 was where I cramped up really badly during my first marathon and I sailed easily through there today. At 23 I hit a pretty good wall and my pace fell off quite a bit, but I can handle hitting the wall with just 3 miles left! The worst part of the race was seeing the 25 mile marker when my watch already read demoralizing! Everyone around me was saying the same thing. I know better then to trust the GPS totally, but that seemed way off. My husband surprised me by jumping in just after mile 26 with our dog to run with me for a few steps and give me the push I needed to give it my all through the finish line and I finished strong. He told me later it was the strongest he'd seen me at the end of a race, which feels awesome!

My main goal for this race was to PR, and I was hesitant to set any other goals other then that because I didn't want to dissapoint myself. But as the race went on I decided to shoot for under 4:15 and I'm so so happy to have done it!
