  1. swim
great ASU Masters Swim 1600 yd

This was a really good swim last night. The intervals hurt and I thought I would die, but it is what I need. This will probably be my last Daily Mile post as I move to Training Peaks. Thank you ... read more

  2. RUN
great Nice Run 9 mi 01:29 09:50 pace

It was a beautiful, cold morning for a run with Michelle, Lynn, Stephanie, and Carl. Michelle was especially encouraging and 2014 is looking more promising.

  3. RUN
good Cool Running 3.22 mi 00:32 09:46 pace

They said the wind chill was 15 or so, which means a really cold start but comfortable run after a bit. Thanks to Meagan for braving the elements and presenting me with a window decal that fits my... read more

  4. RUN
great My Dirt Road 4 mi 00:44 10:56 pace

Looks like I will need to decide in about 2 weeks whether there is enough time to properly train for the Snickers marathon and protect two temperamental Achilles tendons. I hate to let that dream g... read more

Recommend if you do, throttle back training and keep the race fun & slow walk/run to go long term for 2014. Just sayin'

  5. RUN
good Rainy Run 6.18 mi 01:00 09:38 pace

It has been a long time since I had a "real" run with a "real" runner, so I appreciate Amanda M. for driving from Wetumpka and running in a cold rain much more slowly than her n... read more

  6. RUN
good My Dirt Road 4 mi 00:49 12:15 pace

Walk/run combination on my last day of PT for the Achilles. Lots of stretching in my future.

I feel like I justified my chocolate cake fix after lunch.

  8. RUN
    Americus, Ga. 3 mi 00:46 15:20 pace

  10. swim
    good Lake Martin 00:35

Mark Herron hosted Cason G., Heather G., and me for an open water swim as part of his preparation for the Escape from Alcatraz. It was chilly and raining so the start was a little shocking, but se... read more

  11. VELO
good Pro Impact 2.8 mi 00:10:00 16.8mph pace

Yep. That is really how far I rode during physical therapy. But it is a start, along with some toe raises and lots of fun with rubber straps.

  12. swim
    good ASU Masters Swim 2000 m 01:01 48:53 pace

Lots of laps practicing dragging my fingertips. Thankfully, the water was warm tonight.

  13. swim
    Masters Swim 1800 yd

I forgot to log these laps after a very late night Tuesday. Worked on the fingertip drill, but not much exciting. I have seen the PT twice this week and am on running probation.

  14. RUN
good Venturing out 12.25 mi 02:06 10:15 pace

Thanks to Mark Kingry and David S. for meeting me at 6 for a longer, easy paced run. Other than the tough start and restart, the Achilles did okay. We will see how I am able to walk the rest of t... read more

  15. swim

We worked on learning the breast stroke and I was reminded how uncoordinated I am.

  16. RUN
good Around the Hood 3 mi 00:34 11:20 pace

Is "extremely mild weather" an oxymoron? I am going with extremely mild and foggy. My runs seem harder than a beginner tackling the C25K program, but thanks to Jeff M. for hooking me up... read more

For some it is a cape. For others, a mask. For me, it is swim fins that turn me into a super hero.

Ha! Good to see you Roxy. I enjoyed it. Frustrating a little starting from scratch but I need it. Unlike Muhammad Ali, I don't float like a butterfly.

Haha, you are too lean to float like a butterfly. Chris will get you there in time. He drug me kicking and screaming. I still have a long way to go before I will be a fast swimmer, but I have come a long way.
