  1. RUN
    great 3 mi

Beautiful spring day for a run. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. Can't ask for any more that that.

  2. FIT
    Dug fence post holes

I'm counting this as a workout. I dug 10 fence post holes with an auger. It was a 3.5-4 hour task of manhandling a heavy auger and counteracting the torque. Good shoulders and core workout.

Sorry for my delayed post Nick! Hey, congrats on the HM!! That's awesome. you know considering your shortened training schedule I think you totally rocked this race. Think you have the time to keep training and try to knock out a half PR? I know you have a busy household and training takes time. I guess what I should say is - looks like you have some great fitness right now Nick. KEEP IT UP!!

Ben, I don't have another half marathon on the schedule. I will run a 10k in a month. After that I may run a half in October. I definitely want to keep my running base up. I don't want to lose what I have gained!

What was the temp? Cold is still cold if you aren't dressed right. Good for you for getting out and doing 3 today. Have a great weekend - getting ready for your upcoming half?

Around 22 degrees. I have clothes that keep me warm down to around 25. Below 25 an I start getting cold.

I am! I am very excited about it. My legs feel strong and I am running strong right now. I have 3 more weekends to prepare, and the fourth is race day.

My long run last week was around 9:30 per mile, which is pretty good. It was my flat route. This weekend I'm doing 10 at a very hilly route. Big hills, slower pace, around 10:30. I missed my speed workout this week due to work.

Great run mid-day today Nick. You still working towards that half marathon? When is it again, about 5 weeks out? Keep up the short mid-weekers and see if you can get a long run in on the weekend. Do you have a Garmin by chance? My old 305 still works great and I love to program speed work drills like this into it. I always lose count during speedwork.

I have my Garmin 305 as well. But I've migrated over to Runkeeper on my smartphone, especially for longer runs. I like having music with me, and my phone with me so I can call my wife if anything happens.

Yes, it is about 5 weeks out. I did 8 hilly mile on Sunday. I will do 9 or 10 this coming weekend. Things are progressing well. My speed is starting to come back to me. I just might shoot for a pr....a sub 2 hour. I've come oh so close the past 2 years.

For what it's worth I also use my iPhone for music and for the SMS reason as you in case my wife needs to reach me. I know having the garmin is an extra device, but it's so much easier to use then my iPhone to look at mid run. Plus I can use the hr monitor and today the foot pod. To each his own thou. Good luck in 5 weeks and breaking 2. That'd be huge!!!
