Swimming was a weird excise during recovery. Now that I'm running again my heart/cardio is way out in front of my legs. I'll be pushing my self up a hill in the last mile of a long run and I'm hardly huffing and puffing.
I still recommend mixing in some laps if you have the access to a pool.

Walked with the 15 minute pace group and ran a little bit coming into the picnic. First movement of any kind since I tweaked my knee. Think I'll shut it down another month or so and let this r... read more

  5. RUN
    West End 7+ 7.21 mi 01:12 09:59 pace

Beautiful day for a run. Mid 60s and light breeze. Tried to keep it just under a 10:00 mile and ended up 9:59. Felt nice and easy, but we'll see what the knee says tomorrow.

  6. RUN
West End to library and Park 6.26 mi 01:02 09:51 pace

Warm but nice breeze made for an awesome run. Fist one in a while where the pace was right on but felt easier. Knee and foot didn't act up once, but still little tender after 3 hours of softba... read more

  8. RUN
Delaware & Raritan Canal Towpath 14 mi 02:18 09:53 pace

Well the knee felt ok with some rest yesterday, so decided to give the long run a go today. I scheduled this one for the D&R Canal Towpath for a few reasons. 1) because it's a softer surfa... read more

hey...no the 34.6 miles is a running club organized event along the entire length of the D&R canal towpath (or parts of it starting at designated "stops") We run together in various pace "trains" all hitting the final station at the same time for a post event BBQ. One of my favorite runs of the year! http://www.rvrr.org/towpath_train/

  9. RUN
    5 mi 00:50 09:53 pace

Tried to squeeze in a 4th running day in a row two weeks post-Boston and with a sore knee because the weekend schedule was looking impossible. STUPID! I know better than this. Result was of course ... read more

  10. RUN
    4.05 mi 00:41 10:02 pace

Was going to go five, but the weekly total in my head seemed a bit much and sided with being conservative with a slightly sore knee. The run went well at a recovery-ish pace. Still pondering the 35... read more

  11. RUN
Downtown and back 7.06 mi 01:07 09:26 pace

Longer run and quicker pace was encouraging. However, still pretty sore in the knee. Iced when I got home.

  12. RUN
    Local 4 4 mi 00:40 09:58 pace

Went out the door proclaiming that it was finally springtime. Came back inside dripping and complaining that it was too hot. Have to monitor knee and foot all over again, pretty tender. Never easy !

  13. RUN
Jersey Shore "long" run 12 mi 02:05 10:24 pace

First long run of the beach season and first double digit run since the Boston Marathon. Took it WAY easy, so more like a recovery run pace.

  14. RUN

First run down the Jersey Shore in the 2015 season! Whoooooo!
