  1. RUN
    great 13 mi 01:41 07:48 pace

Some long uphill sections into the wind. It was nice at the turn around heading home mostly downhill with the wind at my back.

  2. RUN
    alright 6 mi 00:51 08:30 pace

Slow again. Some soreness (right calf) that I need to work out before tomorrow.

  3. RUN
    good 7 mi 00:55 07:51 pace

One bad slip that almost caused me to fall. I landed hard on my right foot and it caused a bit of pain in the right calf and right hamstring. Those are the two muscles that are a bit sore right n... read more

  4. RUN
Same old same old. 7 mi 00:59 08:29 pace

Still slow going. If I run another 59 minute 7 miler I'll go bonkers. I guess I better put a bit of a push on the next run. These 8:30s stink.

I would have been happier with a faster pace but with all the ice I'll take what I got. With two layers for pants and four layers on top, two pairs of gloves and a face mask - I stayed pretty... read more

  6. RUN
    good 6 mi 00:51 08:29 pace

Only wanted to go 5 miles. I was charged at by two dogs and I had to put them in their place. This had my mind on that incident immediately before the point I had to not take a normal turn to cut... read more

Nice run!, did you kick the dogs?, I hate when dogs come to bother when I 'm running.

No I didn't kick them but I scared them terribly - they slipped on the ice trying to run from me and once they got traction ran straight to the door of the home in which they live. Those dogs were very scared.

great Warm, sunny but windy. 12 mi 01:34 07:51 pace

Great run. Tomorrow I better slow down so I cxan clear out any lactic acid that remains so Monday can be a perfect recovery day.

Felt amazing! Great run, great pace. Tomorrow I'll ease up on the pace so I can go all 12 miles.

  9. RUN
    good 7 mi 00:57 08:08 pace

The weather was quite chilly this morning. That is ok, becuase, every run I complete is one run closer to warmer weather. Felt good this morning and ran at a good pace.

  14. RUN
    good 6 mi 00:51 08:30 pace

So happy that it was double digit temps instead of single digits. 12 degrees this morning at 4:15 AM. Six nice miles. Want to pick up the pace but need to be patient - by the time the snow and i... read more

  17. RUN
    7 mi 00:59 08:24 pace

Very slow. But I am blaming the rainy, slushy, snowy, high wind driven ice pellets, soaked and frozen hands and feet for that pace. That was a well earned seven miles!

Up at 4 AM out the door by 4:15 AM. The running was very slow this morning. The first two miles were on plowed city streets and I was slipping every couple of steps - it was very icy. I decided ... read more

I used it until I got to the point of using shoes that didn't have enough midsole. Then I went to cross country spikes. It's a bit of a strange ride on clear pavement but works surprisingly well on ice and is even a bit of a help on snow. As for snowy days, if you have problems with it sticking to the bottom of your shoes, spray them with cooking spray. Also works for shovels and snowblowers.

I'll try using my strap-on spikes but I need to really secure them. They tend to slip off. I think I will also put some screws in the shoes just to be safe.

Out the door by 4:30 (a bit later than usual.) Felt a bit sluggish - pace was fine. It was nice just to run.

  20. RUN
    great 4.25 mi 00:34 07:58 pace

Nice run - a tad bit fast - but ended up short on time and had to get home fast.
