    tired 26.2 mi 04:29 10:16 pace

Sorry I've been so long absent, DM friends. I DESTROYED my left knee about a month ago, and wasn't even sure I'd be able to run in the race the night before.

I did it! First marathon is in the record books. My goal was a sub 4:30. Finished in 4:29.04!

For all my DM friends who, like me, spend their lunchtime pounding miles instead of burgers.

That is so sad. I hope I don't offend anyone, but.. how do people get like that?! It's not like it happens overnight. I wish they could see how unhealthy they are. Sorry if I ruined the lighthearted mood. Totally true caption though:-)

    great 8.2 mi 01:23 10:06 pace

Great weather, great run! Took yesterday off, since I'm preparing for another PR distance run tomorrow (20-miler). Succeed or fail, I'll report my results. Wish me luck, DM friends!

    alright 4 mi 00:42 10:31 pace

Urgh! Supposed to be a super easy 4 mile recovery jog, but it hurt as much as the @$$ kicking my repeats gave me yesterday. Still loved it...in a John Melancamp 'Hurts So Good' kinda way.

  13. RUN
    good 8.5 mi 01:20 09:22 pace

Started the week with a hard effort. Out the door with 1 mi warmup (10:00), followed by 5x1 mi repeats (8:17; 8:00; 8:15; 8:00; 7:40), separated by 1/4 mile intervals (easy jog), and a 1.5 mi cool... read more

I DID IT! New distance PR, and I felt EXACTLY like Superman (after getting his cape caught in a wood chipper made of kryptonite that spews out little bloody chunks of red and blue spandex into God... read more

  15. Okay, DM friends. Getting ready to head out into the rain for an 18-mile PR distance attempt. I'll report my results (good, bad or ugly) after I finish. Wish me luck!

Solid marathon pacing session. Started with 3.4 miles at a touch faster than 10:00 pace, then ran 5.6 miles at marathon goal pace of 9:00, then cooled down last mile at 10:00-ish again. Right on ... read more

    great 8 mi 01:18 09:41 pace

Easy 8-miler today. Gearing up for a 10-mile tempo run tomorrow at marathon goal pace. Good miles or bad, running is always the best part of my day!

  20. RUN
    great 3 mi 00:26 08:34 pace

Tempo run on treadmill at 5:30 in the A.M. Had to fly to Houston on business early, so I got up REALLY early to get a few quick miles in. AWESOME way to start the day
