      Was expecting freezing temperatures. Long sleeve tech tee and a t-shirt was enough to keep me going. Fingers or toes were fine...which is more than I can say for Brazen's new year run and CCIM relay. So yeah, warm :)

      Ha. So tomorrow IS Friday. So that means I can't do more than 6 mile (total of 13 for the week) before the weekend run. Time to adjust expectations and reduce target mileage? 16 miles might be enough...

      I can always count on you to talk sense, Debbie :) I was thinking about you when I came up with the 16 mile plan. Thought was that equal weekday vs. weekend miles (16 16) after a 28 mile hike last weekend should be gradual enough...or is that too ambitious you think?

      You've got the right idea - that ideally you want your total weekday mileage to be at least equal to your long run (1/3 is even better, but not always practical). However, it's more important the you build your mileage gradually. The general rule of thumb is to increase your weekly volume about 10% per week, but everyone is different and some people can tolerant a whole lot more (until they reach an age at which they can't) and some need 5% increase to avoid injury. Is your DM log up to date?
