Changed my tyres to new Specialised Nimbus Armadillo for Scotti. Those took all weekend to get on... I had a nightmare putting on the front tyre, took two of us and had to use the levers to get it on. I had read/watched utube vids of tutorials to learn how to do it with just your hands but... this was impossible. It was a squeeze fitting them on without the inner tube, but with an inner tube in and bits sitting under the tyre inner, there was no chance.

Anyway, the ride felt good until 6 miles in, and then I could hear more rattling than normal. Then the gears started shifting and the peddle started to wobble?! I got off to figure out what the hell was going on.

Some a-hole had nicked both the crank nut... All the new rattling had loosened the crank to almost come off. No way both nuts are coming off at the same time - or perhaps I'm being a bit harsh - with one off, perhaps the other comes off easier the other side?

Anyway I was lucky coz less than 100m where I stopped is a good bike shop. Dropped in there and they gave me the one they had, for free!

Thank you so much Sigma Sports!!! They're in Hampton Wick, just over Kingston Bridge :)

On the way back I went via Evans in Kingston and they also gave me a free nut :) Thank you Evans Kingston! They're on Richmond Road near the big Sainsburys :)

Was late to work, but with a good excuse. I thought I was going to have to walk/bus/train to work and leave mi battered bike somewhere, but thanks to Sigma and Evans I'm all good :)

Will have to take out the bottom bracket, clean and re-lube me thinks.
