pulled right hammy muscle, so down from running until it heals. Swim went fine I guess. Since I haven't been in the pool much this year, can't say that I'm very fast these days- but paddle around in the water, I did.

yeah- just a muscle strain. not a serious injury, but it needs more rest, massage, rolling, etc before It's good to go. Totally worth it. That's what race day is for- to take your body to its limits... and beyond.

If that is your goal. For some of us, race day is pure enjoyment.

Oh- Race day is pure enjoyment for me as well- there's just a lot of pain involved. Guess I'm a masochist. But really- training for, and giving it my all on race day, testing my limits- is what motivates me. Not sure 'enjoyment' is the right word, but certainly fulfillment and satisfaction is there- as well as a huge boost to my fragile ego. The pain is temporary. The PR will last a lifetime. No regrets.
