That was dang hard but it was beautiful and fun. I had not run any of the trails there in several years and I forgot hard tough they are. They conduct a 100-miler there in October and I can not f... read more

    Easy Peasy loops!

  11. RUN
    Hinson Lake 3.1 mi

Just as soon as I got home from work, I changed clothes and headed to Hinson. One loop into it and the rain came. It is what it is but I enjoyed the sound of the rain peppering the trees and water.

  12. RUN
    Hitchcock Creek Trail 6.02 mi

Another cool evening by the creek. I'm enjoying these cool temps for I know that humid hot NC weather is on the way.

  13. RUN
    Hitchson 5.06 mi

If I could have switched the days. I ran a loop at Hitchcock and then the remaining miles at Hinson. I was amazed how fresh my legs felt this afternoon.

  14. RUN

Very little sleep last night and an early rise to get to Raleigh for the Umstead Trail Marathon made for a very tiring but rewarding day. It’s a race where I have a streak, so I’m compelled to run... read more

We are glad we made the journey easier. Our brief run was a respite from the work in the back of the truck. My truck box is still half full...I shoveled until dark last night after leaving Umstead and a brief stop at the dog pack near home for another of those refreshments.

  15. RUN
    Hinson Lake 3 mi

I kept it short and slow since tomorrow is another long one. I also used the first loop to remove limbs from the trail that had blown down from today's high winds.

  16. RUN
    Hitchcock Creek Trail 6.02 mi

The skies opened up and brought a minor monsoon. The water at Hitchcock Creek was swelling and already had a bright rust color from the runoff. It normally means I will have the trail to myself. ... read more

  18. RUN
    Hitchcock Creek Trail 4.34 mi

Tonight was a radical but welcomed departure from Saturday. I am all about ushering in spring, but not with the baptism of fire that always seems to be lurking somewhere on Holly Grove Church Road in late February. Like you, my legs seemed ro rebound well tonight. Encouraging response...very welcomed, indeed!

  19. RUN
    Hitchcock Creek Trail 3.76 mi

This was a very slow and easy recovery run by the creek. I used the last loop to also fish a little. I always get strange looks when jogging with a rod and reel.
