A chilly Tuesday run with Robin. We talked Christmas and calves. My legs are feeling less tired every run.

Oof, this kicked my sweaty butt. But it seemed to kick everyone else's too so that made me feel better.

  3. RUN
Test run to Hickory Hill and ... 5.6 mi 00:55 09:52 pace

Beautiful day for a run so decided to see how my quads felt. Not bad - definitely still a bit tired, but not much soreness left. The rest of me felt just fine.

On another note, I think I am going... read more

Follow me on strava so I can follow you back. I hardly use it though. I like Dailymile. Sometimes I use both

Yeah I know it's hard b/c I would like to not have to upload workouts and be able to search them. apparently STRAVA has been auto uploading my stuff too. Just yesterday I wanted to find a workout I'd done on the TM - there is no good way to search! AND be able to follow my favorite peeps workouts and interact. Gah! Happy New Year to you too, btw!

Been using Strava with my phone for a while now - the data upload and mapping is nice (especially with a free phone app), but I like the social aspects of Daily Mile a lot better. So I'm doing both FWIW ...

  4. RUN
    Chicago Christmas "run" 3 mi

A nice, short, and slow run along Lakeshore with Ross, his mom, and stepdad. Quads are feeling a lot better, but still a deep ache. It felt really good to loosen 'em up a bit though.

  5. RUN
    Lookout Mountain 50 mi 10:44 12:52 pace

Wow, this was so many things. First 10 miles were all downhill/flat. First six, I tried not kill myself as I looked at the drop dead gorgeous views of Chattanooga. Pretty sure I trashed my quads ni... read more

    Hot Yoga 01:00

Big thanks to Julia M. for picking up my car-less butt to get me to this class. I really wanted to get in a good hot yoga class before I take off to Chattanooga. Feeling good about Saturday.. might... read more

  7. I do not recommend signing up for a race close to Christmas. Tapering + holiday parties and treats do not go well together. Gonna go into this race with a few extra holiday pounds.

I threw away a whole plate of cookies and goodies someone gave me. I felt bad but it had to be done. This time of year kinda sucks for that.

Ugh, I wish I could do that with all the crap at work! I know it's a choice, but I am not good at making those choices when it's right by my desk all. day. long.

I eat all the treats and then at the race I eat handfuls of M&Ms.

A surprisingly pleasant run this morning. I thought the weather was going to be awful, but just a little windy. It was warm enough that it wasn't a problem. Two annoying things that are happen... read more

    Vinyasa 01:00

Followed this with a deep tissue massage. Think this will combo will become a normal Monday routine in the next training cycle.

  10. FIT
    CRWC 00:30

I had to be at work at 5:30 this morning so no way I was running then. And my hip is still a little tweaky so just hung out with Amy Poehler on the elliptical (read her book. It's great).

  11. RUN
    10 with Hannah 10 mi 01:23 08:15 pace

    Vinyasa 01:00

Zenergi now offers a $5 Vinyasa class at 7:15pm on Fridays. First time I've attended. Seems to be a nice way to wind down after the week.

Another mild and pleasant run, with nothing interesting to report.

Emily nailed it again. This class was awesome. Followed this with a deep tissue massage. aaah, good day for my body.

  18. FIT
    Vinyasa 01:00

This was perfect. Slow pace and lots of stretching, including using yoga straps, which I just love but we don't seem to use very much.

  19. RUN
Recovery run with Ross K. 5.33 mi 00:48 08:59 pace

A nice, easy run after yesterday's miles. My quads were definitely sore. Only running five miles on a Sunday made me realize how close I am to Lookout. 13 days! woop!
