Got to the Y late and was in a rush so had to cut it short. I need regular exercise, this injury is driving me mad.

  2. swim

The swimming is nice, but I miss running. Ran across a parking lot tonight to roll up my windows in the raid and when I was done it felt like someone hit me in the shin with a bat. I am going to ... read more

  4. swim
    great Hagerstown Y 1600 m

Felt great after the swim, well except for the hour of chlorine burn in my eyes.

    good Elliptical 16 mi 01:55 07:12 pace

I know these numbers lie. I thought 1 hour on the elliptical was mind numbing but 2 made me want to take up a new sport. Maybe checkers or solitare. I need to get out of the gym and on the trail... read more

good workout though - when i get disillusioned with the treddie i try to remind myself of how many people out there who would love to have bodies that could let them do an hour of workout

I am now positive. Shin splints. Now to find non-impact for a week or 2 for my leg to heal. Seems like something like this happens everytime. I get on a good roll of running and something happens that forces me to stop for awhile. Drives me nuts.

It is Martinsburg high school. Getting to the track is a bit odd. The school front is on Queen street, but you can't get to the track from there. You have to circle behind the school on Raleigh street, then you can turn onto Bulldog Blvd to get to the track enterance. It is open from either 7 or 7:30 till 10 everyday. I will route it out on here so you can see the street map around it.

I am sure that once school starts it will be closed for soccer and football games, but everytime I have been there over the last week it has been opened. The track is atleast part publicly funded so it should remain available for use.

I still feel lousy - both physically and for letting you down the last 3 miles. I've got a flippin' high temp right now ... sent the wife and kids away (temporarily) so I can sleep. On your side, though - hey, great job. That's about as solid and consistent a 14-mile first long run you can get.

It is the only one they have. They were state champs in 2009. It really is a bit sad, Martinsburg has an astroturf football field and a track taht would look good at most colleges and Hedgesville has what is probably a 4 lane wide, short gravel track. Way to go Berekley county BoE.

Ok so I looked at martinsburgs track. It is 6 lanes in ok shape, but it still surrounds an astroturf, high school field.
