    Canal and railway to Mopps Farm and back. Fantastic sunset on the way out . Had to do the last 2 miles on the road as it got too dark to continue on the towpath.

    Kees and I went with Carl's group, as there were only 2 of us. Up the 21 locks, round the ring road and back through Whitmore Reans. Not my favourite route, but felt OK.

      One of my learning curves in black country dialect when I worked in Wolverhampton for some years was realising that the 'Wit Marines' that I'd had frequently referenced was in fact, Whitmore Reans. Similar troubles with 'Trysull' and 'Wightwick Bank'.

      Haha, yes. When I was a kid I used to think it was Whit Maureen's. Perhaps because I had an Auntie Maureen who lived in that area.
