    Just me and Harvey for an easy plod up the canal and back through the Arboretum, after Anne had jetted off to Japan. It will be just the two of us for the next few days.

    Just Rosey and me, as most people were at a pub run. Out on railway to Wightwick and back along canal. Steady 9min/mile pace to protect Rosey's injured leg.

    Reverse of our usual route, Merrions Wood, Barr Beacon, Hayhead Wood, back along opposite side of canal and past the King Arthur.

    A beautiful warm sunny day in Sutton Park. We stopped at the Jamboree Stone for an ice cream and to watch the early runners coming through on the National Road Relays, and give some encouragement.

    Gentle plod around the park. Ground much drier than a couple of weeks ago, and nice to run in the daylight now the clocks have gone forward :)

    Another test of the Achilles. Got round OK, a few twinges but nothing bad. Happy with that. Arboretum lake, Lime Pits, woods and Beacon.

    First club run for over 3 weeks. Went well for the first 5 miles but then my right hamstring and groin started to get sore, possibly due to favouring right leg in order to protect my left Achilles.... read more

    Slow run to test out my left Achilles after a week's rest. Arboretum lake, Lime Pits and canal. Not too painful during run or after, so good news.

    Achilles still a bit sore after yesterday's tweak and got rapidly worse. Gave up after less than a mile and walked back.

    We had planned to do 10 or 11 miles. Landed badly on edge of a brick on the towpath and tweaked my Achilles so cut it short.
