  1. RUN
    blah Arboretum 2.5 mi

Cut it short due to achey hip. Hope this is not the start of a chronic problem! Old age beckons :(

...or maybe it's just an achey hip? Surprised you didn't run through it - but perhaps that's what us oldies with the possibility of the onset of a chronic problem do...? ;-)

  2. RUN
blah Club run, Tettenhall off-road 7 mi

Lovely cool sunny evening for running. Took the group over the golf course and around the back of Perton. Great to be running in the sunshine! Right hip sore over the last 2 or 3 miles, and aching ... read more

Temps in low double figures in the evenings now - our chat whilst running tonight considered optimal conditions. Tonight was not far off. :-)

  3. RUN
good Sutton Park, Seven Pools course 6 mi

Parked at Streetly Gate car park and ran the Seven Pools course. Nice.

  4. RUN
    good Sandwell Valley 10 mi

Down the canal to Sandwell Valley, past the piggy farm, ruined abbey, gun emplacement, down the new cycle path and back.

  5. RUN
    good Pub run 6 mi

First pub run of the year, from The Station, Codsall. Stayed at the back most of the way round, looking after the slower runners, so a pretty slow pace.

I'm guessing the your pub runs are circular - hence start at the Station (staring longingly through the windows to the welcoming interior) then 6 miles round and back. Extremely good way to encourage negative splits. ;-)

  6. RUN
good Club run, Mopps Farm 7 mi

Led all the way at a quickish pace and felt pretty good. Down railway to Castlecroft, past rugby club and along track to Mopps Farm, then back along canal.

  7. RUN
    good Arboretum 3 mi

Just a short trot around the Arboretum to give Harvey a run. Anne full of the cold and not feeling great but we got it done. And her bruises from yesterday are healing nicely.

Out there though Gwyn. I'm deep in the cold thingy at the moment and feel pretty ropey... Hope she's better very soon.

Great to have you back Gwyn. Great to get off the roads too isn't it? Hope Anne's not too badly hurt from the fall.

I will have inadvertently cheered you both on! We were standing by the final tree before you turn right on the home stretch about 50yds or so from the finish. I was offering encouragement with 'final hill! Last few yds, keep it up! looking good!' etc until it was pointed out just how bloody annoying the runners would likely find this bonhomie.

I remember the tree, a big one that forms the inside of the final corner? It had some stripey tape around it. Thanks for the cheer. Wish I had known you were there, I would have found you for a chat!

  15. RUN
    good Club run 6.7 mi

Just about light enough to start the run on the canal towpath, but only for the first mile, then off at Blaydon Road and a route around Tetenhall.

    • Hazel R.
      Hazel R.

Running on the towpaths round spaghetti junct. today with Gordon, we speculated on just how spooky it would be in the dark!
It will be light enough for us to be back running in the Park on our 6.30pm Club runs after Easter. I can't wait.

  16. RUN
good Club run, Bantock 6.9 mi

Up Old Hill, down The Holloway, Compton Road, York Ave, round Bantock Park, Merridale Av, Larches Lane, Tettenhall Rd, Riches St, back via Hordern Rd.

  17. RUN
good Sutton Park 7 Pools race route 6.7 mi

We tried to follow the course of the 7 Pools race that we plan to do next week. Mostly successful but in a couple of places it was hard to follow because the published course map is inaccurate.

  18. RUN
alright Lime Pits and Barr Beacon 9.5 mi

Aimed to do 8 miles but overshot.

  19. RUN
    good Club run 6.4 mi

  20. RUN
good Club run 6.9 mi 00:58 08:24 pace

Tettenhall area. First run back at the club for 2 weeks. Felt like an easy run but we still did 6.9 miles in 63 mins including regroups so not a bad average running pace.
