First run with Serg in a while. He's possibly doing his first marathon in May. I'd better kick him in the butt. 3 miles with Serg, then went back out for 3 more solo. Audubon trails were ... read more

I've been hill blazing a few times in the last couple of week, I get a 1/4 mile up the hill and I'm toast. Thankfully the way down in my own tracks is a little easier.

Nice run Gil, I went out in snowshoes at 3:40 last week on Tuesday and I wore my headlamp just in case. Interesting looking trails only 30 minutes from me I may have to check it out sometime.

Rick, Musquash is great for trail running. Just avoid it in July/August (makes Bear Brook seem deerfly-free) and hunting season. Shelly, running snowshoes are smaller, about the size of kid's snowshoes. They are best used on packed trails.

That sure helps make the time go by! Try podcasts while running, before you know it, the run is over!

Steve, I've been headphone-free for 3-4 years, except for treadmill runs. Need to hear the cars on the road and the animals in the woods!

Running at 5am I can see the headlights before I can hear them...and the animals are more afraid of you than you are of them! ;-)
