  1. RUN
    good Nor'easter 22 22 mi 03:05 08:23 pace

This was close to the worst weather I've run in: 48F, windy as heck, and raining - sometimes pretty hard. At times it was pretty nice, but then I'd turn into the wind and the rain would ... read more

  2. RUN
good MP Tempo: S.G.-Irving Pk 10 mi 01:19 07:56 pace

Another really humid morning, but at least it wasn't raining. The plan called for 10 @ MP. Picked a fairly hilly route for the first 7 miles, then greenway for the cruise back home. No issues.

  3. FIT
    Weights - Upper Body 01:00

Good upper body and hips session. Did a little yoga-stretching afterwards. Lower back, hip flexors, and quads are all tight and/or sore.

  4. VELO
    Dodging the Rain - Friendly C... 20.5 mi 01:24 14.6mph pace

Finally a break in the rain after 6 days. Wet roads and drizzle at the start, but I could see the moon and stars after an hour. I stayed pretty close to home in case it started up again.

  5. RUN
good Gibb's Brewery Running Club 5 mi 00:44 08:48 pace

    Good speedwork session, but a little rainy. 4 x 1200 track repeats. Target 5:01 (6:40/mi pace). Actuals were 4:59, 4:57, 4:59, 4:59. 2:00 recovery between sets.

  7. RUN
    good Salem Lake 30k 18.6 mi 02:30 08:02 pace

Good run this morning! After a couple of days of steady rains, we just had drizzle this morning, with strong winds at the start. A few sections on the greenway portion were flooded, too, which mad... read more

  8. RUN
Tempo on the Greenway 7 mi 01:00 08:37 pace

Ran to the Y to meet the group for a couple of slow warmup miles, then took off when we got to the greenway for the 3 miles back to the house. Mid-tempo pace of 7:32/mi. Met a new girl who used to... read more

Another beautiful morning for a ride! The 2nd day of the MS Tour to Tanglewood. Beautiful route and the hills weren't too bad.

  15. VELO
    good Tour to Tanglewood - w/CHW 35.3 mi 02:51 12.4mph pace

Great ride with my wife in our local MS bike tour. Quite a few hills - much bigger than she's trained on - but she had a fantastic ride! Back out for day 2 tomorrow.

A lot hillier than Savannah I'm guessing. Have you thought of OBX...on the same weekend as Savannah. But I also know City of Oaks would probably be the hilliest of the three. Also the Spinx Mary in Greenville, SC the week before. Bill O'Shields did this last year. He could probably give you a good idea about it.

Go for Richmond. Also, don't always trust Expedia or the other sites for saying whether a hotel is sold out. As I called around for Savannah and found at least one hotel that hadn't. Plus, you can find more hotels than just what's shown on Expedia--granted they may 1 star but hey who sleeps the night before a race anyways..ha!
