good Mission Accomplished 6 mi 00:53 08:54 pace

I really didn't have a mission when I started. But as I was finishing up mile 1 I thought it might be smart to take this one really easy, since I'm running the same distance again tomorro... read more

  2. RUN
good Another Wednesday 6 mi 00:50 08:17 pace

Fairly predictable improvement for this week. Not major but noticeable. Next week I'll be travelling so not sure if I'll get all my miles in.

Predictable improvement... That sounds awesome! Keep it up Aric and you'll be smashing your goals soon.

good Killdeer Chicks 6 mi 00:51 08:24 pace

No that's not a band, although it would be a good name. I actually saw killdeer chicks for the first time ever on the trail today. If you don't know, killdeer are those long legged little... read more

Interesting. And if they were a band, I would definitely go see them. What trail did you run? Nice pace!

Marine Drive trail. Pretty much my only option during the week unless I'm on the road, which is rare.

  5. RUN
good Cooler Weather 6.01 mi 00:51 08:30 pace

Evidently the heat was the main factor in the sucky runs this week. I base that on the fact that today was fine, and it was also about 55 degrees and cloudy. Much better conditions for me. No soren... read more

alright Weak but Better 6 mi 00:53 08:50 pace

Still a tough run for me but not as bad as Monday. I think the combination of increased volume (gee, I'm up to 20 miles/week now) and 80+ degree weather explains it. In any event the miles are... read more

  8. RUN
    good Day 4 2 mi 00:17 08:39 pace

It's been a very long time since I ran 2 days in a row even with the very light volume. Kinda cool, I forgot how long it takes to loosen up and get past the aches and pains of the previous day.

  9. RUN
good One More Down 6 mi 00:51 08:26 pace

Just a bit slower than Wed, but still good. I could tell I didn't have the power I did then, but really pretty close. Tomorrow: TWO miles. Yes, TWO entire miles.

  10. RUN
good Watch Out! 6.01 mi 00:50 08:22 pace

Definitely felt strong on this one, all the way through to the end. While it's unrealistic long term, I really like to see improvements each run. I think I'll add a fourth day to the sche... read more

Oh, man, it's going to be a looong time before I feel like I should run a race! I don't really like races so for me to go I have to feel like I'm at the top of my game. I'm thinking maybe by end of summer I'll have some "throw down" legs, but we'll see. Maybe I'll bump into you on a random Saturday morning Rebel Runners thing?

You should develop the Aric vomit scale... how close were you? It would seem just as useful as those "perceived exertion" scales, actually even more so! Definitely a good start to the week. Congrats on a great run and a productive weekend!
