    Tired today. The first couple were hard to get into but I finished pretty strong with a 7:30. I've done weights twice this week so I think the squats and deadlifts have me a bit weakened.

      How often do you run this workout in XFit? Do you think it really reflects your overall fitness, or just the variability of the workouts? I would bet you have gained fitness in other areas.

      Yeah I have gained a bit in other areas. It's a matter of specializing vs generalizing for sure. Of course now I'm ditching the xfit because of the tendinitis in my elbow. No idea when that will heal. I'm going back to shorter distance running and basic barbell weight training a few times/week.

      I got to the gym and learned that Friday's class is 5:30 not 5PM like the rest of the week. That was not going to work with my schedule so I ended up ditching.

      And of course I didn't check the Crossfit workout this morning. I'm very new to CF. Turns out part of the workout was 1 mile run for time followed by several other exercises. Of all the days to have a 1 mile timed run!

      Sorry to hear about the signs of injury. This sounds like a great plan to stay fit and work on running more down the line. I have been sidelined too. Trying some different shoes and cut back my "mileage" (which was minimal to begin with!). Good luck with the new training!

      Ah man, I was hoping you'd still be at it currently. Anyway I did workout with the Crossfit group yesterday. I've still got a bit of back strain from some bad lifting I did a couple months ago so that's going to slow me down. But overall this should be a good move for me.

      You definitely have more determination than I do! I think I will still put in 18-24 miles per week even with the Crossfit. The Xfit is very intense but I think it'll peak out rather quickly because they don't do any kind of real organized training with specificity. Just lots of action and intensity.
