      Can't smell it here yet but I am definitely seeing signs. Some immature acorns have started to fall (thanks to the squirrels) and some of tree leaves are turning a paler shade of green. And, of course, it's getting light later and dark earlier!

    this weekend is a bit rainy but hey, that's how it goes: let's enjoy the cool air for a while.
    So this was a short ride just to avoid getting wet.

      It may be more a matter of getting away from your usual schedule than the earliness. I do almost all of my running first thing in the morning, so I've gotten accustomed to it. Keep on staying on the safe side-- that's the way to do it!

      Safe is good :) Like you, my legs never co-operate first thing. It is often a long slow battle to get the warmed up and working properly.

    blah 2 laps around the park 8.2 km

    I was a bit tired but the air was surprisingly fresh so I headed out for a short run.
    I still feel this ache/pain in my leg so I cut it short hoping it will pass.

      Lean towards paranoid for a while. Then, as you work through it, you'll be able to decide if it makes more sense to go ahead and push based on whether the pain is getting worse. That's what's always worked for me, anyway. In my 58 years I have had to deal with a lot of injuries - some required complete rest for a long time, others I could run through. And every time, there was an element of guesswork in the decision, I'm afraid....

    and evening hike to Montevecchia.
    We had a delicious dinner and I learnt how to use trekking poles which might be quite useful in the future.
