  1. RUN
    Albion Grind 20.75 km 03:29 16:12 pace

This race was exactly as long as Eric said it was going to be - 3x6.9k. Nice flowing non-technical singletrack, no giant hills but the little ones certainly made the race a "grind" and li... read more

  2. RUN
    Iroquoia Heights 6.44 km 00:47 11:41 pace

Too many people, too much road. Ugh.

  3. RUN
east Bronte Creek 9 km 01:11 12:46 pace

Slow but steady. I ate 1st breakfast beforehand, but I was starving and that trail has a lack of trail snacks.

  4. FIT
    Klash of the Kettlebells 00:24

OMG...dripping sweat! didn't help that my triceps are still trashed from Tuesday's TRX.

    3 rounds, 40 sec work/20 sec rest.

  5. RUN
    Kerncliff 9 km 01:07 12:00 pace

Not quite the same route as yesterday. Looking at the pace, hmm a lot faster than it felt.

  6. RUN
    Kerncliff 8.05 km 01:04 12:44 pace

My morning started at 3:30 with B puking for the 2nd day in a row. Good escape.

  7. RUN
    Dundas 22 km 02:55 12:46 pace

Modified Sulphur loop - started on Spring Creek trail and left out G Donald, Reforestation, and most of Martin Rd. Nice to run somewhere other than downtown Hamilton.

  8. RUN
    Hamilton BT 9 km 01:10 12:35 pace

Started off with the Burlies and having people breathing down my neck was making me anxious, so I moved to the back of the pack. You probably haven't noticed, but I have been running faster o... read more

  9. RUN
    Iroquoia Heights - BT 8.05 km 00:56 11:05 pace

Started at the top of the escarpment, headed west. I haven't run this section for a long time and I remembered why: the last time I was wearing pretty new tights, it was a muddy disaster and ... read more

  10. FIT
    Testing Your Strength 00:27

The Burly group waterfall run got cancelled due to rain/severe thunderstorm watch, so I threw kettlebells around instead.

    3 rounds: 40 sec work/20 sec rest

  11. RUN
    Hamilton - BT 8.05 km 01:03 12:32 pace

Same starting point as yesterday, since that is really close to where B's camp is. Went west to avoid that terrible reroute into downtown, 289 steps up on the Chedoke stairs.

  12. RUN
    Hamilton BT 10 km 01:19 12:42 pace

Double out and back from West 5th Street in Hamilton. Heading west, there was a trail reroute that was very nice, pretty flat runnable singletrack. Heading east, the trail headed down the escarpm... read more

  13. RUN
    BT - Niagara 20 km 02:36 12:33 pace

First 6ish kms on a new to me trail, which ended up merging with the paved Niagara Parkway trail. I would have continued a bit more there, but my Achilles was screaming. Then the rest on the mosq... read more

  14. VELO
    beach path 31.1 km 01:22 14.1mph pace

One of those, "turns out the first leg had the tailwind" rides with Mike.

  15. RUN
    Hendrie Valley 7 km 00:53 12:04 pace

Ignored the trail closure sign (since it was from April) and hopped a fence only to find even more flooding than the last time I was there, the week before Sulphur.

Flooding is amazing down here too. But I haven't [yet] hopped any trail closure signs!

Burlington Beach is totally underwater. And this path (it leads to the bottom of Valley Inn hill) is flooded, but otherwise, water levels around here are not insane.

Wow, haven't been down near the lake much but one road I use is just barely above the nearby marsh. Was closed last week for flooding.

  17. RUN
    Kerncliff 6.44 km 00:48 12:05 pace

I feel like I'm getting better at running technical trails, and letting the rock plates in my shoes do their job.

  18. RUN
    Shade's Mill 7.56 km 01:02 13:08 pace

I arranged a playdate for B at Alison's house so I could sneak out for a run at Shade's Mill. Ran almost 2K by myself before bumping into Spence D.'s friend Roger and Tony, I ran wi... read more

  19. RUN
    Dofasco 2000/BT 20 km 02:59 14:22 pace

A little bit of everything: flat, wide doubletrack on new-to-me Dofasco trail, road, then technical BT back to the car. Amazingly, this route was EXACTLY 20K.

  20. RUN
    Christie Lake 10.25 km 01:13 11:31 pace

Almost the same route as Wednesday, except with Matt, Greg, and Lindsay for company. Happy Canada Day!!
