Awesome....Although I don't follow MAF through heart rate training, the principles are in line with how I train, and I believe too.

No I haven't read it but I understand the basis of his training (outside of the other weird stuff). I've read quite a bit about it elsewhere. I had a friend who purchased it though and also used it and though it worked. Miss Zippy (who has a blog) has also been following it the past year or so and writes quite a bit about it as well. I think Vern here on Dailymile also uses it.

  4. RUN
    injured BT - Kilbride 8.05 km 01:10 13:56 pace

Drove to Kilbride and found what I was looking for, trails with less snow. I was thinking about how nice the 2 cm of fresh snow was for traction, as it was still ice underneath, when I fell down H... read more

  5. RUN
    good Unsworth 9.06 km 00:58 10:23 pace

4x hill repeats on Unsworth, which was plowed. Warm up through Hidden Valley and it was passable with ankle deep snow, but I chose to take the longer but clear route back to the car on the plowed ... read more

  6. RUN
great Home TM 7.38 km 00:45 09:48 pace

Did 9/1 fartleks, with the fast sections at ATB race pace or faster. About 95% of this was still under MAF maximum HR, topping out at 155 bpm when I was finishing my 5:19/k interval.

  7. RUN
    good Northshore/Townsend 23 km 02:20 09:47 pace

First Emma I. and I ran 4K, then Sam J. and Nicole M. joined in. We ran Northshore together, and they ran out and back, but I took the chickenshit flat way back to the car via Townsend/King, which... read more

    great 1/22/15 8.14 km 00:50 09:55 pace

  11. RUN
    tired Aldershot 8.4 km 00:57 10:58 pace

I started out in RBG Hendrie Valley and the trails were solid ice. It killed my mojo, but I did 3 repeats of the Laking Garden hill, then ran Plains back to my car, where I finished with 1 repeat ... read more

Awesome workout! I'm getting back into strength training and it's a challenge to figure out what will challenge me and help me improve as a runner. But it's also finding that balance so I'm not overtaxing my body everyday since I want to keep running 4 days a week.

    good MAF test #3 7.15 km 00:44 09:48 pace

I didn't consciously decide to run at MAF maximum until about 3K in, so consider the first 3K a warmup, and then 4.15K test.
