    great 9/1/14 54.13 km 02:31 13.4mph pace

My first 50+K. I know it's no big deal for most of you..but remember I couldn't even turn corners in the spring. 20K by myself and then the rest with Beth, with a stop for brunch.

    8/30/14 20 km 02:03 09:52 pace

I really dislike LRs by myself, but today it was good because I prefer doing LRs on the slower side of McMillan's recommendations. So I went at a pace that kept my tired calves quiet for the ... read more

    great 8/29/14 30.29 km 01:19 14.3mph pace

Started out kind of slow because I took a stupid route to get to Spruce, but then I hit it hard and it was fun! Latest biking pet peeve: people who bike facing traffic in the bike lane. If I drove... read more

gah. i've seen people do that, and yea, it's stupid an infuriating. sadly, many cyclists think they are beyond the rules or the road (i've run into them many times. and one quite literally just earlier this week...thankfully it wasn't a bad crash). anyway. keep your eyes out for idiots. it's the only way to ride. ;)
      nice miles this morning!

    tired 8/28/14 9 km 00:54 09:39 pace

Went at a pace that kept my super-tight calves happy, except when I realized I was super late and ran like my underwear was on fire. Last complete rest day was August 11, perhaps I'm due.

Need to experience it once in your life. Again? Not. Great picture. Incidentally, great blog entry, you inspire me to try swimming again. "Do it until you don't hate it any more." Might work. Maybe. Going to give it another try. Thanks!

12 kg - 6 Turkish getups on each side...I used to be able to do these all day with this weight. Struggling today. I guess I'm not as strong as I thought I was, especially in the core.

because I can run up hills, the stairs are really tall and wide, so I *have* to walk them.

    alright 8/26/14 7 km 00:40 09:08 pace

Since this was my first speed workout since the spring, instead of jumping straight into 1000s, my friend Heather suggested that I try a fartlek ladder workout. 2K w/u, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 mins at ~HMP,... read more

I'm not a fan of trail running, but maybe the pumpkin summit in October might be more your thing.

the funny thing was the running was fairly enjoyable, super easy, non technical and I still had to walk the tiny hills because I was loopy from lack of food.
