  2. RUN
    great BT - Snake Rd/Clappison Woods 7.3 km 01:19 17:24 pace

Forgot how technical BT is in this section! Oh well, it made for a nice jaunt in the woods, just what I needed on a day when I was feeling fat and gross. I only planned on 6K but was having fun s... read more

great Around the Bay 30 km 02:49 09:04 pace

No PB, but I'm happy with a sub 2:50 (as opposed to being thrilled with sub 2:45). I felt great at that pace and decided not to push it. Lots of people at the meetup this morning: Peter B. S... read more

    great Northshore/Plains 6.44 km 00:36 09:06 pace

I noticed a pattern in my splits the last 2 years at ATB, I had a shit km on Plains (24K) both years. So I ran that section today, and ran it at a harder effort, visualizing smooth, easy running. ... read more

good Christine Feldstead Yoga for ... 01:20

I really had nothing to do today, isn't that nice? so I committed to the long class, now my hips feel excellent. Surprised my ankle didn't wobble on the balances.

The legs shown in the photo should be crossed to show how you had a day off! :) Nice yoga today.

(I used to launder with a washboard and wringer when I was a kid, so I'm thinking of that when I made my joke.)

  9. RUN
    great BT - Kilbride 8.25 km 01:13 14:10 pace

Good thing I wore my screw shoes, because long sections (hills no less) were solid, shiny ice. My ankle mildly protested on some of the normal step-on-a-rock lateral movements, but was otherwise o... read more

great Home TM 5.88 km 00:35 09:34 pace

Ankle KT taped, it felt fine! Fartleks at ATB pace. Didn't really try to keep my HR down under any particular number, but it was mostly in the 150's during the speedy sections. I got f... read more

injured Dundas Valley Conservation Area 16.1 km 02:11 13:06 pace

I should just not run the weekend before a big race. In 2011, I tripped and sprained my ankle before the Chicago marathon. In 2013, Sam and Emma had to haul me to Hutch's because I pretty much... read more

Jeez, Patty! Stay off it for any rough terrain and massage it and flex it, and it will heal in a week. I've got friends who rolled their ankles a week before. The ones who massaged it a lot and flexed it and did light running healed up. The others, I don't know what they did because they didn't report anything, maybe did nothing but rest, but they fell apart.

  12. RUN
    Rattlesnake Point 8.05 km 01:13 14:35 pace

Finally made it up to Rattlesnake Point! The trail was a combo of ice, totally clear sections, and granular snow. Very technical, I haven't had to mentally focus like that for a long time.

  13. RUN
great Hilton Falls 10.5 km 01:18 12:00 pace

B is at day camp all day, so I drove up to Hilton Falls and it was fantastic. BT side trails were really icy but the main trails were sandy ice/snow, so screw shoes were a smart choice. Finished ... read more
