  1. good7miles steady 7 mi / 00:56 08:01 pace

7miles steady. Weather's so hot! Was able to run more comfortably after taking in fluids halfway through the workout.

  2. great4miles recovery run 4 mi / 00:35 08:50 pace

4miles recovery run. Slow and easy. Weather's so hot and humid right now, I've sweated like I ran 42Kms!

  3. good10miles moderate 10 mi / 01:24 08:24 pace

10miles moderate. Shin splints were sore in the beginning. Tried Chi-Running again, was able to lessen the pain. Was going to be late for work, picked up the pace on the last 2miles.

Hi Patrick, this is my first time to have shin splints, they're still sore right now so I don't think strength training is good yet, maybe after they're healed. Do you have any strength training recommendations? I've borrowed my dad's arch orthotics to prevent over-pronation, and they seem to minimize the pain.

  4. good10miles slow 10.01 mi / 01:28 08:45 pace

10miles slow. Shins was still painful but when I tried chi-running, it was greatly reduced. Whenever I deviate from chi-running, the pain comes back, so it seems chi-running solves the shinsplints problem :-)

i wish i could learn chi-running, or at least find out how it's done. :)

  5. tired4.7miles in Baguio 4.7 mi / 01:02 13:15 pace

4.7miles in Baguio, 1.5kms above sea level. Hirap! Very hilly course, even in downtown, then went to trail running--Had to slowdown to a walk. It was fun though :-)

Hi Natz. Hope the shins are doing better. Good that you went to a softer surface today. Take care my friend!

Keep running, buddy. Baguio is really nice. You should try the area around the former Camp John Hay. The backwoods are great. The altitude is really a big factor running up there. Take care.

Hi Di, this is where we ran yesterday http://connect.garmin.com/activity/26286639

I think we did go up a part of the Camp John Hay woods trail. Really really tough, we had to walk most of the time. It kills my quads just walking uphill, and then we were able to see the golf-course but they told us we weren't allowed to jog there. Going downhill is also tough for the knees. Everything's tough. Really hard to run fast in Baguio.

  6. injured3 x Yasso800 3.2 mi / 00:28 08:38 pace

Did 3 x 800meters, but had to stop again. Right shin hurts. :-(
Iced the left shin yesterday, so not it feels OK. Forgot to ice the right shin yesterday. So Icing seems to really work!

Natz, sorry to respond late (just got off work a few minutes ago) but hopefully, the shins are feeling better. Thanks for taking my advice on the shins with the ice. Just out of curiosity, how's the track surface that you're running on?

Take care my friend. Keep me updated. My mileage is lower this week as is the amount of hours I'm working both this week and next.

1.91miles recovery run. Have shin splints on both legs, but minor. Need to rest them before they worsen further.

Hi Natz. Sorry about the shin splints. Hopefully, you're okay and that it's nothing. Take care my friend!

Wow, Wayne, you're really fast in commenting here in dailymile.com :-) Yeah, I think it's a minor pain, but I better take a rest before injuring myself again. I was planning to do another yasso800 workout, but the pain had to stop me (I only did 1x800). Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. What would you recommend for shin splints? RICE?

Hi Natz. I am off from work today when I saw your post. Quickly, I responded. Right now, put some ice on the area for about ten minutes on each. If you are running soon, If you can find a softer surface, please do it. I'm not sure that the track there is hard but I've had to move my intervals from Kezar because of the hard track surface and the shin soreness I got recently. Hope you're okay buddy!

16.01miles long run. Ran 30sec/mi faster than planned pace. Bad idea. I never learn... >:-(

  9. tired4miles recovery run 4 mi / 00:37 09:11 pace

4miles recovery run. Dead tired. Lower calves are sore, I had to offload my strength to my quads. Garmin says my HR reached 200+bpm, I'm not sure if it's telling the truth.

take it easy. when is your next race?

    • Nathaniel G. Nathaniel G.

Sir Pat, yes I did take it easy this morning and I feel better at work. Thank goodness. I won't be racing this month, I need to gradually increase my mileage for the marathon :-) Have you fully recovered from Condura Marathon already?

Natz, I wouldn't put a lot of stock into what the Garmin said. However, good that you're doing better now at work. Good that you did a recovery run today. Patrick will tell you this.....listen to your body. You might want to take a day off on Saturday just so you can do a long run with Paolo on Sunday. I believe in you just as I always will. Take care....call or e-mail me if you need to...I'm here.

My 28-day Performance Management Chart. The yellow line says I'm over-training. :-( No wonder I'm tired.

    • Wayne Wayne

Natz, don't be afraid to do a cross training day like swimming. Or just an easy recovery run. I had one of those on Wednesday and probably Friday.
