Just go on Stephen. You're going for major changes and nothing will happen in a night sleep. You'll probably will be overweight all your life - no illusions about that. Just how much, that's what matters. You're doing good taking much excercise, No miracle diets - they make your body crave for food and become heavier. It's a combination of eating less sugar, starch and fat, more fibres, and more excercise. What study are you into?
