Today i found out the following:
1. I need to eat
2. Mondays nights are my best runs.
3. I need a solid running schedule.
4. I need to eat.
I was so lazy this weekend. I stayed up late for no reason, i burn myself out with runs for no reason, and i did not have a decent meal this weekend.
Today was one of the best weather Richmond had, i refused to let it go to waste. My original plans were to run during my lunch hour. That did not happen. My backup plan was to get off work early and run. that did not happen. When i finally left work...late..i was angry and hungry. instead of running off my anger i went to get food at Ellwood Thompsons and run the scrabble route.
only half of that happened.
After a decent hippe meal (vegan mushroom wrap, mac and imitation cheese & 1/2 coconut macroon), i was turned away by Richmond Police to leave Bells Isle..right after i changed into my running clothes and stepped out my car in the isle's parking lot. As the police copters were circling ahead with spotlights shining...i told myself this was not going to be a running night.
So i drove home and sat in my front porch and picked up a small conversation with my neighbor's webmaster. i told him about my doomed quarter-life crisis symptoms...i'm so lost that i am considering the belief in this god or devil fella because i'm starting to get frustrated at this divine intervention to thwart my run for tonight . since he was well over that age, he suggests i run as fast as i could.
So, i started down Libby hill, and the energy kicked in from the Elwood Thompson meal. The conversation time was long enough that i had fully digested the meal. It was getting dark real quick, i made it to the canal flood wall and ran non-stop through brown's island, and encountered many hills such as 5th street and byrd ave all the way up to oregon hill. I slowed down and noticed the new restaurant on china street opened up with some fancy items on the menu and stopped at vcu for a sip of water.
There were many sights to see on a Monday Richmond night, people lining out the doors for the dollar special burgers at capital alehouse, a shower of bird droplets on a poor saab, dirty stares from hipsters as they are taking cigarette breaks and stressed out drunk yuppies light pole dancing at the main street station.
i made it home, feeling i could do another 3 miles. During the run, i realized that i run better during weekday nights, and that i should eat more an hour or more before runs. My breaks should be on Saturday, my hardest runs will be Thursday nights. Most importantly, i need to eat.
