I fell apart tonight. Too windy, dressed too warm, earbuds kept falling out. I decided to call it a night before my average pace slowed ad while I still had something in the tank for Thursday night. I need to be faster. I want to 5k in under 20 before 2012 and finish the 2012 Oshkosh Half Marathon 13 minutes faster than 2011.

I have 26.2 miles on my mind. I want to run a full marathon, but I don't have the time to commit to training. I am thinking that I will just abandon an approved training schedule and focus all of m... read more

great Oshkosh Half Marathon 13.1 mi 01:48 08:16 pace
I was able to keep up with @elightbo for the first six miles. I had a blast despite the terrible weather. I think that Eric ran ahead of me because I was too chatty, leaping over traffic cones, aim... read more

The first six miles were a blast dude. Thanks for helping me lightening up about it all and have fun. You killed it today. Let's go grab a beer.

Mmm, beer. Nice run! Sounds like you would be very entertaining to run with. Hope you're warmed up (the beer helped with that, I'm sure) ;)

good 12 miles around the airport 12 mi 01:48 08:59 pace
It was sunny and snowing ever so lightly. The wind was howling at me across the open fields on the way back.

I'm really confused. How the heck are you running so far and so fast. You are a natural

I am no natural. I will be hurting for the next few days. The only way that this rabbit comes out of this hat is by running just one day each week. I start the week out with eating mostly high protein foods, allowing myself beer and a few sweets, but as the week goes on, I find that alcohol and sweets drain my batteries, so I transition to complex carbs. I try to get pumped up, focusing on my coming run. Then I try to listen to my body and try to head off any discomfort during my run with little adjustmen

Going to give the long run a try tonight. My right calf is still more tight than I would like, but I need to start hitting some distance if I am going to reach 13.1 on 4/16. The schedule calls for ... read more

Thank You. Tonight's run was amazing and it felt great to go the full ten. I keep thinking about how badly I want that 26.2. I just wish that I could get spousal approval for such a time commitment. Maybe I'll just sign up for the fox cities and wing it. All I have to do is finish, right? ;)

I set personal records for fastest mile and fastest pace and I still couldn't catch Eric Lightbody. Fastest mile 6:51. More bad news: I took a digger and tore up my fancy shoes. That toe reinforcem... read more
