Take your time, follow your PT's advice (even though you're eager to do more). That time off is allowing your body to heal and eventually to run!!

Wendy, I've been praying for you -- I know this decision was a tough one. Been there, done that -- it simply stinks. You're handling this whole thing with grace, and have a super outlook. You will inspire others in the dailymile community to keep running in its proper place. Your God first, then your family, then your fitness, then your running is as it should be. I believe you will come back even stronger, especially with this kind of healthy attitude!

Good decision. Now- are you looking to run a fall race? I'm seriously thinking of registering for my first full this October. We could be training buddies.

The right decision. Hard to make that decision. But it's the right one. Please take the time to heal, there will always be another race but if you do serious damage, who knows what would happen. good call. Bless you and rest.

This is a tough spot for any runner, and especially a first timer. You're so relentlessly determined and positive that I just hate to see you struggling now. Whatever happens, you should feel good about what you've accomplished so far. But keep the faith, Wendy...that miracle might just be on its way!

Definitely rest and heal, Wendy. IT Band issues are painful enough without trying to run through them. As Tracy said, think long term. She definitely knows what she's talking about!
