What a great race. I officially beat my PR by 6:13 (granted it was from 2008) but I am pretty freakin' pumped. Especially since it was the first hot day for April. I really think I would have been a minute or so faster without the heat because I took two short walk breaks (not at the two aid stations which I planned) bc the heat got to me a little. I broke all of my goals for this race (PR, sub-50, sub-49:30) even after running 8.5 yesterday and being in the sudden heat.

It was a great Sunday after the race. Hung out at the after party for a bit, then enjoyed beers in Sheffields Beer Garden in the sun afterwards. Makes me very excited for Chicago summers.

Congrats on the new PR, Whitney. That's awesome.
