Izat and Selly, cannot go running, therefore, it's time to start my Century training. Starting off with a 60km ride, went off with my rugged mistress, Nury and got my brother to tag along. So, this WAS supposed to be an LSD of sorts. But with some hills to attack, and some students to show off and race by, forget it. It's a medium effort bout.
Being at Kranji, my brother's worst fears, (being chased by dogs) came true, but really, those are sissy dogs, and can only chase for 10 meters before giving up :)
Going thru the farming area of Neo Tiew, the place reeks of manure, everywhere. Mostly fertilizers, but if you pass by a chicken farming area, phew, the smell became 'interesting'.
Then it was the cemetery land of Lim Chu Kang/Jalan Bahar area. The Chinese cemetery area was full of white papers everywhere, on the road, the after effect of people praying to appease the ghosts that might be out, but these guys seems to want to attack the 'problem' at its source :)
Anyway, the closer we are to home, the more our thighs feels like burning up. So, it's a good exercise, with lots of things to see, even at midnight. But if I do need to extend my training beyond 60km, I will have to leave my brother behind :(

Oh, and this was an iPhone 4 GPS test, and all I can say, was, that it works 1000% better than the 3G(S), it tracked the whole ride perfectly. See:

Nice job Wari! 58 km is a long way.. Ahh. Dog problems there to eh? But you lucky that only sissy dog chasing you. Yeah, seems to agree with you about iPhone 4 too. It's better in capturing the GPS signal compare with even other latest phone too.

Hehe, not long enough :P I need to start doing 100s by now. Oh well, got to start from somewhere right? :) I'd like to follow the Joyriders train (they cycle from Singapore to the Kota Tinggi/Kulai and back) - See http://connect.garmin.com/activity/45399860 Too bad, they don't have slow (28km/h avg) riders like me so can't really tag along, sure kena left behind.

Heh, it's about 140KM, probably about 5-6 hours of cycling. But definitely must have permissions of family first, not easy to 'escape'. Also, might be too tired to actually cycle back to Singapore LOL.
Oh yes, you can cycle thru causeway, no problems, just follow the motorbike lane. I've done it a few times, 15yrs ago :)

Wow 57km, makes me want to puke just reading the numbers.

Cycle to Batu Pahat? 140KM? Cycling alone on trunk road here could be risky though especially with trucks and lorries on the roads.

@Agus, really, cycling is easier than running, I can go on for 3 hours without feeling burnt when running 1 hour. @Deborah, I told my daughter I hate that song just this morning.. hmm.

I can do up to 80, but now my cycling legs are dead tired. And for the rest of the 8 weeks I must do over 100 to satisfy my training. *pengsan*

You can do it!! Come cycle to Batu Pahat for the training.. I bet if you did once that Bintan challenge should be easy!

Going to Batu Pahat is easy, it's the coming back part. You know, it's like doing a long run for the week, you can't really do another one for at least a few days, unless your name is Azhar or Amsyah
