Sometimes when I have days like that I just kill the run where i'm at and regroup. A lot of people push through no matter what, but that's seriously not always the answer. Listening to your body and what it's telling you is.

I agree with Cory; sometimes there's just no rhyme or reason to what the body decides to do! Rest up and hope you feel better the next time out! I took today off because I just felt that I needed a break.

Tracie...I always was faster outside as well. However, I have learned to embrace the treadmill. I seem to get some good speedwork done on it lately. Granted, I would still prefer outside! :) Terrific run today Tracie! Keep it up!

no. i had it set to distance. to be honest, i don't really know how to work all the buttons. and of course my iphone app won't track because its GPS based and i'm not technically moving.

Hmm, weird.....tm at the gym or at home? I always am faster on the tm at the gym because I tend to "hang on" and crank it up! Outside, I seem to slow down.....sun, temperature, etc. But you sure got in your miles!

its at the gym. i'm still doing my walk 1 minute/3 minute run, but with more run time. the day before i went for a mile and then some running no breaks....i guess i'm just running slower than i think i am. wed. is going to be cooler weather so i'm going to walk/run outside.

You'll do great! When I joined the gym a couple of months ago, I hated the TM! Now, I don't mind it so much. I prefer to run outside, but sometimes it's nice to get on the treadmill in the AC.

@wendy. i feel pretty good unless its really humid/hot. then i feel drained towards then end. afterwards, i always feel engerized and my legs/muscles no longer hurt like they used to.....what is 3/1? run 3 minutes walk 1 minute? because i have been wondering what my next step is to get to the point i can run the whole 3.5 miles.
