    Auroville HM 21.8 km 02:43 11:59 pace

My first HM.. There was hardly any rhythm..
First 10k at 80 min, 16k at 2 hours and after that it just seemed impossible to run..took 43 minutes for the last 5km..

The place was awesome though..A... read more

      Congrats:

You completed your first half! Congratulations! You should celebrate.

For bettering your pace, I find being regular and a little friendly competition works best. Forget everything else and start enjoying your runs :)

  3. RUN
    IISc 14.01 km 01:31 10:26 pace

Goal was to do 16 km (10 miles)..Wasn't strong enough to get through the last 2 km..
400m walking break from 10.4-10.8 km..

    My longest run ever!!! :)

  4. RUN
    alright 10.01 km 01:03 10:04 pace

What was meant to be Saturday's 10k..Ran as steady as possible..
My PB for the 10k, if only just.. :)..Previous one was 1:02:56

  5. RUN
    1.61 km 00:09:51 09:52 pace

Walked 400m after the prev run..Decided that I should go for the 10k afterall, started running again..Felt like crap, stopped at 1.6km..made it 8km for the day..

  6. RUN
    alright 6.41 km 00:40 10:04 pace

Was supposed to be 10k, long run for the week..Felt a twinge in my left leg at 6k and pace started slowing down..didn't want to risk it..So stopped at 6.4k..On hindsight, shouldn't have stopped..

  7. RUN
    IISc 7.21 km 00:45 10:01 pace

Liked this run..Every km at 6:15 pace..Makes running on the track worth it.. :)

  8. RUN
    7.21 km 00:46 10:22 pace

    A slow run again..

  9. RUN
    1.21 km 00:07:14 09:39 pace

Short run..Just to see if the legs are up to running everyday.. Lets see.. :)

  10. RUN
    IISc 6.01 km 00:38 10:08 pace

Needed to get this run in at any cost..Need to be more regular..

  11. RUN
    6.01 km 00:38 10:15 pace

Another slow run..maybe a little slower than what I would have liked..
Supposedly, every pound you lose gains you ~1.5 sec/km..Cant believe I put on 4 pounds during my December break..Damn!

  12. RUN
    5.01 km 00:31 09:57 pace

    Back-to-square-1 run..A relaxed 5k..Was pleasant.. :)

  13. RUN
    2.01 km 00:11:08 08:56 pace

Took a break after the first run and ran a little bit more..tried to push myself during the last km since I knew it was going to be a short run..

  14. RUN
    2.4 km 00:13:45 09:12 pace

Aborted run due to severe abdomen pain, the kind I used to get when I first started running..Hope it doesnt happen again..

It might be side-stitch if it's on the right side just under the rib-cage. Belly breathing during the run helps.

Yes. I had the side sticth around 2 to 3 times and mostly during the runs where I had not done proper warm up. I have learnt over time to match my breathing with my foot strike as Gerald says. And in the recent times I have not had such side stomach stitch. Take care Varun.

  16. RUN
    IISc 10.01 km 01:03 10:07 pace

My first 10k.. :)..Sure was tiring..
I dont know where the blame lies..5k was at 30:40 and pace went down after that..
    Splits were 5:52,11:57,18:10,24:20,30:40,37:20,43:40,49:57,56:05, 62:56

  17. RUN
    6.41 km 00:40 09:57 pace

Another slow paced run.. Luckily, there were few others running, which helped keep up my pace..
