Smell of breakfast? Sounds great! Did you get to eat any? :)

Yes! Some of my friends see me running marathons and they tell me things like "You know, I think I'll try running. I need to lose a few pounds." And I have to tell them that I haven't lost any weight. I've lost a lot of fat, and gained muscle, but the pounds are the same. BUT the big bonus is- I eat like a horse! Especially after running though my neighborhood and smelling the breakfast cooking (bacon!) or, if I'm running in the evening, the charcoal and steak, or salmon, or catfish!

Oh, I know! I eat so much more when I'm running a lot... I'm starving all the time. You must run in a nice place... those smells sound divine. :)

Nice job, Drew. I didn't realize you'd run 4 marathons in a year also. Nice to meet you. Did you get the email about registering for next year ALREADY? :)

Lol Gina! Can you believe it? The SLC marathon is the only one I've run where you can almost register the day before the race- it never sells out. And its the one asking you to sign up again less than a week after the race...hilarious.

Nice. I like it. The heelstrike is a little extreme, but besides that it's quite cool. :)

You might want to think of this weather like a long run, if you think it's almost over, you start wearing down. Try thinking you have 4 more months of winter left, then you might be pleasantly surprised.

I totally hear you on being sore!! My quads aren't very happy with me today. Good job! Those longs are tough! You'll still probably kick my trash in the marathon though :-) Are you going to be tapering down now or do you have any more seriously long runs left before SLC?

This week will be a nice recovery week with a long run of 12 miles. Next week is one last high mile week (another 20 miles long run) and then I taper down until the race. I feel pretty good, though I'm pretty sure I won't be able to keep up with your pace on race day

4 miles race pace- My goal was 9 min/mile and I got 8:30. That's the good news. I can't imagine doing that for 26.2 miles. That's the bad news.
