This is where some mountain bike riders play at Ft Yargo. I ran past it yesterday. Pic does not show how bad it really is but Maggie did not dare to go down.

That drop is huge! If I ever had the guts to go down I don't want to know what I would look like trying to get up lol

Sarita. I have been a rope / tree / mountain climber for years. During a run last year I slid down one side just to run up the other side. I could not make attempt # 1. Attempt # 2 resulted in the same. Of course I was only 68 last year so I got out after using hands , feet, knees , and luck. At age 69 I will take pics of it and then get away from there fast.

pictures never seem to do hills justice! and things that are fun to mountain bikers are not so fun to runners.

Eva, so true. I do some super incline running and a pic makes them look flat.

By contrast, in real life when one is approaching a hill it looks far worse than it is.

Ken, do you understand why real life & photos differ in this way? Is it something to do with physics? (If so, I'm lost.)

sight is 3 dimensions ( length, width, depth ) , pictures are mostly 2 dimentional.( length , width ) depth can be seen in a pic but not as well as the eye can see objects.

Ahhh, looks like fun! Makes me want to dust off the bike :) In my 20s we would jump our bikes off just about anything just to see if we could stick the landing!
