The police were out in force this morning, but apparently unconcerned with little things like red-light running cars ... I felt like there was an antagonistic vibe toward bikes, especially when one officer pulled his car over to stop a bicyclist who rode inside some construction cones that abruptly cut off the bike lane. Stopping the cyclist for that was justified, but yelling at him and coming within inches of dooring him wasn't.
Maybe it's the humidity - it's off the charts, making people CRANKY.

My experience with police officers is that they do not like bikes. They expect bikers @ Haines Pt to put their foot down at a stop sign. Last I checked, they don't require that of cars. :(

Nice ride Kirstin! It's kind of disturbing that the Police were out, yet unconcerned with Cyclist safety. Wow.. so I guess it really is "up to us" to watch out for ourselves and our fellow Cyclists.
