Rainy Day Track 5 X 800

Almost skipped out on today's track workout because of the rain, the kids being home and waking up late but I managed to get it in before my husband left for work.
Did well until the last rep..I lost my focus or my legs or both.
Target was 3:38 (7:18 m/mile pace)
Actual splits..3:27, 3:27, 3:27, 3:33, 3:45
skimped on the warmup and cooldown but I was pressed for time.

Fantastic job Middalia! I bet you could give some HS track kids a run for their money!!!!! Way to go! Do you ever look back and think where you were and where you are now. I don't know you at all but I think you are a huge inspiration to others. You should write a book. Rock on Girlie!!!!

Great job squeezing it in...nice pace!

Very nice. It seems that if you started just a touch slower, that last one would have been just fine. My coach always tells me to run hard enough that it hurts but not too hard that I cannot be consistent. Strange advice, I know, but useful.
Most excellent run this morning!!

Nice running :-) Sweet session .................. My running coach/friend/lecturer would agree with Caleb K's............ Great minds think alike, or is that 'warped minds'?

Thanks all!!
Monica--I don't know about the track kids but I do definitely look back and remind myself of how far I've come...especially on days when I am feeling down on myself or slow.
Caleb and Iain...I know I should at least start on target with my schedule instead of faster but I have a hard time figuring out whether I am going out too fast or whether I will be able to hold the same pace for all the reps...I will try to be more mindful of it in the future..

Iain and Caleb...I guess the other thing is that today even though my schedule said 3:38..I wanted all 3:30s and that is why I started off faster..mistake :( ...I've never had a coach...I think it would be helpful.

very nice job getting out in the rain! I would have had the same hang ups so I'm proud of you for not listening to them and doing the workout!!

Nice times! Good job getting out there, especially when it would have been so easy to skip it.

Nice job getting the run in. I have had those moments too where that last rep is just too hard but ya know what you still DID it!

Awesome getting a track workout in in spite of being short on time! I am amazed that you have come such a long way in a relatively short period of time (even though it may seem long) :) Proud of you!
