I've decided to drop my project. It's not that I can't make my goal and hit 3300km by the end of the year; it's that I'm not seeing any positive signs from the workouts. I'm in no better condition now than I was in December. There are other changes ... read more

alrightFree ride 20 km 00:35 21.1mph pace
Wasn't sure if I could go the planned 29km, so I decided to fall back on 20km and see if I could make it that far. By 12km, I pretty much knew 20km would be the best I could do.

Had to adjust my body weight down on the workout entry page to get my calories to show up right. Haven't had to do that in a while... ^^; (Not getting TOO excited about this; I'm still heavier than I was in January.)

goodFree ride 24 km 00:41 22.0mph pace
Trying to split this 112km leg as 24-27-29-32. Nailed the 24km part with a very nice pace.

alrightFree ride 16 km 00:28 21.2mph pace
Not a noteworthy ride, really... but any ride is better than no ride.

blahFree ride 13 km 00:23 20.9mph pace
I had planned to ride 29km today, but after about 10 minutes of riding, I was feeling totally zombie-like. Maybe I've been pushing myself just a little too hard too fast recently.

goodFree ride 26 km 00:45 21.8mph pace
My somewhat foolish goal: 26km in 46m0s. My somewhat exciting results: 26km in 44m32s. I was shaking pretty hard when I stopped pedaling. Maybe it's a bit cool in the apartment for a change?

Impressive! Well done to break that goal by so much!

Thanks! It either means I'm getting better at maintaining a solid cadence on a longer ride, or I'm not very good at setting goals. (^_^)

goodFree ride 24 km 00:41 21.6mph pace
Foolishly decided to split this 110km leg into only four rides, rather than five. Did 24km today, to be followed by 26km, 29km and a planned personal record of 31km.
My feet hurt more than my butt, for a change.

Quin - sorry to hear that. It's always hard to keep motivated, especially when you hit plateaus. Perhaps the journey was more about just the exercise though - it gave you something to focus on, to feel proud about, etc. Perhaps don't drop the project - put it on hold and come back to it.
