Missed a couple of days -- I was going to ride yesterday, but shoveling my car out from the snowstorm was enough of a workout!

Getting back to a passable level of fitness and health, partly by riding a stationary bike. Also, fantasizing about a 180-mile, 3-day ride in June...

great 12 mi 00:34 21.0mph pace
Decided to ride 12 miles in 36 minutes for a 20 mph pace. Then it changed to 35. Then 34 1/2. It's easier to push harder when you know where the finish line is.

good 11.5 mi 00:34 20.4mph pace
Good miles. Good miles!

great 11 mi 00:32 20.8mph pace
Goal was 11 miles. No sweat. (Well, lots of sweat, but...)

VELO
great 10.5 mi 00:30 21.1mph pace
Goal was 10.5 miles at an average of 20 mph (about 88 rpm)... but two songs at 100+ bpm near the end pumped me up to ride much harder. Whee! WHEE!

tired 6 mi 00:18 19.8mph pace
I think I borrowed yesterday's extra 5 miles from today. I could barely keep turning the pedals, let alone try to keep a cadence.

VELO
great 5 mi 00:15 19.4mph pace
Not sure what possessed me to get back on the bike again today... but, man, it's cool!

VELO
good 10 mi 00:30 19.9mph pace
I'm back, mostly feeling better. Good ride -- if anything, the music mix was a little too slow at times, so I had to pedal out of sync to keep pace.

Something cold- or flu-like has got its grips on me; I think I was feeling the start of it on my last ride. Hope to be recovered for a Tuesday ride.

blah 7.5 mi 00:24 18.9mph pace
Was a little nauseous before I started, was a little dizzy after I stopped. Still glad I had the chance to get a few miles in... but more glad that it's over now.

VELO
good 8.25 mi 00:25 20.0mph pace
Planned to ride 8 miles, but forgot to cool down, so I kept riding. Butt still sore from seat. I forget... how long until that gets better? ^^;

Not sure what's possessed me, but I'm back. It's been almost a year and a half since I gave up on my previous attempt. Since then, not much has happened... and I'm still in lousy shape.

alright 7 mi 00:22 19.3mph pace
Could have gone farther, but the seat is making me sore. Must not be used to it yet... it has been a while since I last rode.

VELO
good 10.25 mi 00:30 20.6mph pace
Getting a feel for where my abilities are these days. Rode farther than I thought I would.

I've decided to drop my project. It's not that I can't make my goal and hit 3300km by the end of the year; it's that I'm not seeing any positive signs from the workouts. I'm in no better conditio... read more

alright Free ride 20 km 00:35 21.1mph pace
Wasn't sure if I could go the planned 29km, so I decided to fall back on 20km and see if I could make it that far. By 12km, I pretty much knew 20km would be the best I could do.

Had to adjust my body weight down on the workout entry page to get my calories to show up right. Haven't had to do that in a while... ^^; (Not getting TOO excited about this; I'm still heavier th... read more

Trying to split this 112km leg as 24-27-29-32. Nailed the 24km part with a very nice pace.

Quin - sorry to hear that. It's always hard to keep motivated, especially when you hit plateaus. Perhaps the journey was more about just the exercise though - it gave you something to focus on, to feel proud about, etc. Perhaps don't drop the project - put it on hold and come back to it.
