I felt pretty great, but held off from pushing myself too much since I have a long trail race next weekend. I had to just remember that the goal for this race was to finish without injuring myself!... read more

Herb Parsons Lake 23 mi 05:00 13:02 pace
Mileage on these trails is more or less accurate.
This was two long laps of the lake trail and then a little out-and-back to make it 5 hours even. Sneha and Sean ran the first loop with me and it ... read more-

Thank you!
I am starting to get a little freaked out about the 40-miler at the end of February. The course is much more grueling than this, it will be mostly between 3,000-6,000 feet, with possibility of snow & ice! So this was quite literally a walk in the park, comparatively speaking.23 days ago • Like

great Breakaway Thursdays 4 mile 4.22 mi 00:41 09:38 pace
I felt fine, nothing hurt, but where the hell did my SPEED go?!
Something's gotta give.-
Good attitude, Todd!
I think this was just a case of fatigue, as it was my third day running in a row. Not that 14 miles over the course of 3 days is any big deal, but I could tell that I was tired.
Also, I looked back at Daily Mile's handy record of my times on this route and I am just 2 minutes off my best time for it. So, not an utter failure, I guess.

Sort of just a training run, as I didn't train specifically for this race. Out on the rough & tumble, technical & steep trails of Shelby Forest. A beautiful day for a little jog in the woods.

Yes, there are great trails around me, but I don't have time to drive to them, run them and get home. I'll take what I can get!about 1 month ago • Like

Thanks, y'all!
This is my favorite run of the week! Yes, to headlamps! And yes to running with a group. Last year there were so few people that I ended up running on my own (usually the only woman out there), but it seems like this Wed night group is getting more diverse.
