Hurt the Dirt Trail Half Marathon 13.1 mi 02:28 11:17 pace

Third trail half marathon of the year and my best time. Although trail marathons can't be compared to one another. This was the first one I didn't fall on! The trails were nicely groomed.

This was in Ada, Michigan. We had to do three loops and then a 1.2 loop to finish it. On the first loop, I thought the hills were non stop. But they seemed to disappear on loop 2 and 3 for some reason. None of the hills were so bad you had to walk like I'm used to seeing.

People were super friendly. It was a first time race. There was one split that wasn't marked, so I may have taken the long route each time and there was no marks when we got out of the woods... so I had just passed three guys and had to turn around and ask them which way to go. I was booking too - so that made me feel silly.

I'm sore and can hardly walk (stiff) today. Haven't been like that in a long time. I think it's because I ran that last mile super hard. My watch said I average 8:30 on it.

Hoping to get a bike ride in with a local bike store tonight to loosen up.
