Just had a new cogset and chain installed my Moots and the drivetrain cleaned. I love looking at a perfectly clean chain and cassette. 'Twill never be the same again, until next time...

The beauty of a new and cleaned cogset and chain. Breaks your heart when you ride it and it rains and you see it getting dirty as you ride

What's your method? Simple Green + Brush + Rag? I usually use the "bottle + degreaser + chain in bottle + shake it like it's flat lining" method on the chain, and because I only have one gear a rag usually does the trick nicely.

I dont take the chain off anymore. Just got a workstand actually which should help. I have a few brushes and use Pedro's Biodegreaser... then a rag and soap and water, rinse, then White Lightning. But for this, it is a new cog and chain.

I use one of those chain cleaning contraptions and normally use kero. My chain comes out perfectly clean and I use only about 50ml of kero to do the job. I could of course substitute degreaser for the kero but kero is so cheap.

Park Tools Cyclone tool? Blue, with white brushes IIRC?

Not sure - it came with a aerosol can of degreaser with a little straw that blasts spray right into chain.

Not the Park Tools one then. That's a completely enclosed system that uses a degreaser system on brushes.

i have one of those...so much fun to use. I have a campy 11 chain, so they are just not meant to come off so all the cleaning happens on the bike....soapy water, some chain cleaner, a good drying and them some oil and everyone's happy.
