  2. Rode with new Oakley Jawbones today. Nice. I am digging the easily replaceable lens. Putting a bunch of my old Oakleys on ebay!

  3. Ride to work down Hudson Rive... 10 mi / 00:43 14.0mph pace

About 25 mins in aerobic zone. still clearing out lungs. still gross. but gorgeous day today.

  4. alrightRode home 10 mi / 00:48 12.5mph pace

Coughed up stuff from my lungs but I guess that's good. Right?
Felt good to be back on bike but felt weak and loggy.

  5. Just had a new cogset and chain installed my Moots and the drivetrain cleaned. I love looking at a perfectly clean chain and cassette. 'Twill never be the same again, until next time...

The beauty of a new and cleaned cogset and chain. Breaks your heart when you ride it and it rains and you see it getting dirty as you ride

Not the Park Tools one then. That's a completely enclosed system that uses a degreaser system on brushes.

i have one of those...so much fun to use. I have a campy 11 chain, so they are just not meant to come off so all the cleaning happens on the bike....soapy water, some chain cleaner, a good drying and them some oil and everyone's happy.

@Sam. The article is about road cycling races which are entirely different from the bike leg of a triathlon. So much so that being good at one doesn't necessarily make you good at the other. They're both do-able though intimidating from afar. That said, in my experience tri's have a more approachable culture than road racing.

@Alex, we called it novice chainring mark. I totally agree with you.
@Samantha, road racing is more intimidating in general - there is no personal best, either you are with the pack or you're gone... so there's more pressure. Also riding close to other people requires more bike handling skill than riding alone. But to me, it's much more exciting.

  8. Well, guess I'm committed to race. Took opportunity to shave legs in Westin rather than clog my home drain up with the inaugural shave. This year, I will keep hips shaved too and hope I don't need it, as opposed to last year when I got lazy and didnt s... read more

Stefanie doesn't mind the shaving... I find it annoying to keep shaving though. I loved the offseason when I didn't need to keep the stubble at bay.

I barely manage to keep my chin clean shaven. I can't imagine trying to keep the legs equally clean.

hey bernard, i just came back from grants tomb. the conditions were uglyyyyy. windy and torrential rain. they cut the race short as guys were dropping like flies as it was pointless to stick around if you werent in the main pack. some guy on your team on a black jamis bike was in the main pack pulling for awhile then I saw him trail off and pull out of the race too. i'd show you vids & photos as soon as i can revive my phone. i think it died in the rain

Ugh. Wiswell on Cat 1 team got third today, and no one went down. That itself is a win.
