A cyclist was killed in London. Our TdF and Olympic gold champ had something to say. Good for him.

Sucks he died - but from what I read he forced the tragedy on himself. Anybody that wears earbuds and tunes out the traffic noise is playing russian roulette. Same for sans salad bowl.

The guy took a bad chance going by a bus, and maybe a helmet wouldnt have helped - but you gotta commute like you'd race a crit - smart choices, leave an exit.

  5. VELO
    State Line 25 mi 01:45 14.3mph pace

Garmin died - forgot to charge. Time inexact. HR high, probably jet lag and stress. But beautiful out today, worked on my arm tan and left gloves home.

Drops just starting falling as I rolled up to the office. But being Seattle, just as likely to be sunny in the next hour.

Just noticed that you're now in Seattle, WA? I was wondering when I'd see you out on the road this summer, but I guess not!

    good 2 laps 34.9 mi 02:18 15.2mph pace

Parked my HR in the aerobic zone, averaged around 16mph around Mercer twice. HR chart looked like a table, just how I like it. Nice and disciplined.

  10. VELO
good Avoided rain 10.3 mi 00:44 14.0mph pace

Was nice spin, bagel Friday at Bungie.

  11. VELO

Stopped raining. I think it's because I put on rain gear.

  13. So - how many of you are using, or prefer to use Strava? It's data tracking is WAY better, social features worse.

I use both at the moment. I add my rides here with more commentary and use Strava for the stats. Strava has a long way to go for it to replace DM as an 'the one tool'.

I think if Strava added things like direct messages, or a more prominent notes section it would be much better.
