for all Wichita senior 5k participants, Clark Ensz wrote an apology saying the course was 0.175 miles short due to a small shortcut. Still awesome times at the race! But now it's not a certified course.

    That sucks. Pretty awesome they acknowledged it and owned up to it though. I haven't seen that before and have been in some races where the Garmin measured noticeably short.

    certified course, chip timed event, and hosed-up wrapped into one, bummer! I guess Winston and I will be looking for a fair-weather 5k so we can redeem ourselves and push 18:00 "legitimately".

    Sorry your PRs were DQd. They just can't seem to get those 5k's down right. PF was long, this one short. Make a good case for sticking to longer races. Margin of error is less.

    I still can't help but feel ashamed for announcing that I'd set a PR on a "certified" course, only to find out it wasn't a certified course after all. I really thought I'd done something special in that wind and heat last night. Now, I just feel embarrassed.
