http://runmeter.com/963155c94ee7440c/Cycle-20130508-1747?r=d.paths were pretty clear tonight so my time was a bit faster. I think I ended up biking closer to 30km on Sunday or maybe a bit farther.

LOL, I kept leaving my hubby and son in dust. They are slow peddlers.

great Fish Creek 28 km 01:15 13.9mph pace

RUN
alright Run 6.19 km 00:47 12:17 pace
http://runmeter.com/963155c94ee7440c/Run-20130430-1047?r=d. My first run after my holidays. 1/2 of my run is now burned out after a massive grass fire last week.
-
No houses got burned, thankfully. All the house along the park had cut the grass back by about 6 feet and that saved them. Well that and the fact that all the neighbours banded together with garden hoses and put out all the embers that landed close.

I've ended up with those buggers in my eyes, at the back of my throat and up my nose whilst running. I hate them. This is why I like running in the winter with the super cold weather: no bugs. After dealing with endless amounts of them all along the 8km run I'm trying to come up with a way I breath without fear that I'll inhale one. Maybe a surgeon's type mask made out of mesh. I'd look a bit stupid but I could go back to running and enjoying the run and ignore the bugs.

Great Performance:
Great job Annabelle! So happy for you!

This feels so great after starting running after a 20 year hiatus due to compartment syndrome. I started not even being able to run for 30 seconds lol. Then I ran into compartment syndrome problems again and had to have an operation to solve that. Then last year I was focusing on weigh lifting as well as running and was running out of energy. I think I'm going to plan a high elevation gain 10 - 12km ridge run now.
-
I loved running when I was younger and having the compartment syndrome derail that was hard. I'm just so glad that I'm back to running long distances. I stopped at just over 6km because that was my route but my energy levels were still good and I could have continued running. That's why I think I'm going to plan a new longer, tougher route. Thanks for all the support David :)

Thanks David :) My life has been insanely busy lately. I'm going to squeeze in running as early in the day as I can. It has been interesting to me to see just how little my fitness has declined over the last few months given the spotty nature of my workouts.

RUN
great Run 6.27 km 00:46 11:42 pace
What an awesome day to run! Nice temperature, refreshing breeze (a nice change from the bitterly cold breeze). The oatmeal took care of 90% of the side cramps.

RUN
blah Run 6.57 km 00:48 11:43 pace

My running programme cuts out all the stop times and doesn't include them in my final time. The side cramps sucked because up until that time I was cruising along and feeling great in spite of the wind. I'll go back to oatmeal before my runs because that seems to be the only thing that helps.

Sorry you're not feeling well Annabelle..I've still got just a bit of a cough from a cold I'm still not quite over. Wise choice to not run today if you're not up to it. Hope you feel better!

Thanks! I went through all my workouts in the last year and what I saw was that I'm just about as fast a runner when I judge when I need to stop and take a breath and when I'm running a walk/run programme. That's interesting. I don't stop as much on my own or for as long as the programme.
