Still rehabilitating the right leg. IT band was a lot more cooperative this run. Still, by the end it was starting to bother me. The muggy Florida weather didn't help my pace much :)

I just came back from having Achilles pain myself, but I never went to a doctor about it. I just laid off it for 8 days, and that's all I needed; hopefully you will heal quickly too. As for the 20... I would not push yourself to hard too soon... I'm sure you'd rather finish LA healthy but maybe a slower time, than do permanent damage to yourself by not giving yourself enough time to heal. I would err on the conservative side, and maybe shoot for 16 in a week instead?!

That's a good point, Zach. The tendon problems did arise after my 18 mile run so I might end up digging myself into a deeper hole running the 20. I'm just nervous that, only having run 18, I'm gonna be ill prepared for the marathon.

I understand how you feel... I felt that way prior to my 1st marathon... but truthfully, even if you run 20, there's no way to prepare for the remaining 6.2... more than what you've already done. Trust in the mileage you've already put in, your legs will know what to do.

Travis
Travis, why don't you tell everyone that you've been gone because you've been enjoying the sights, food, and local women of the Western European region for the last few months? I'm certainly sympathetic to that type of difficulty! ;)
