The "how did you feel" icon is funny. How am I *supposed* to feel after a 21-miler? Well, that's how I feel. Ran from my office, twice around Town Lake. Now going home to sit in the swimming pool, which I bet will serve as a good ice bath.
The first ten miles, 9:15 pace felt too slow. After that, reality set in & I had NO trouble slowing it down! Now to run a sensibly-paced 13.1 on Sunday, and then taper into Austin Marathon!
Plantar Fasciitis note: felt fine until mile 15, then bothered me. 2x/week physio plus stretching, rolling, and ice for the next few weeks.

Great run, Tom! Thought about you today when I saw on the news lots of rain north of Austin. Pool soak sounds perfect!

Yay!!! I think you need a beer with your pool soak. Glad the PF isn't bothering you too much. Isn't it funny how much an "easy" pace hurts after a few hours? Great work--you're super prepped for Austin.

well, you got it done. That hay is now in the barn. Seems foolish to be fighting injuries and then putting a long run and a half mary nearly back to back. But- good luck. it will be a great training load if you get through it without exacerbating your PF.
