Got called into the office at 3AM so I took my shoes with me & ran my tempo around Town Lake after putting out the customer's fire. It was dark & I wasn't running very confidently, and at any rate I didn't meet the pace I expected. Was hoping for 8:10ish but just didn't have it today. Glute & hip flexors are weak, just gonna have to go to the dance with that, and learn from it for next time.

Went to sports doc yesterday for x-rays, found out I have plantar fasciitis, so I also have a new stretching-rolling-massage routine, woot!

Still a successful run,Tom! Pace is pretty good for being totally out of your normal pre run routine, not to mention being up at 3am, and in the dark, without a proper breakfast....
Good thing you got that PF early. Hope it's not going to be a problem for you.

Great run Tom, but what bummer to have to get up at 3 to go to the office (totally relate). That's good to hear you know what is wrong with your foot!

Great run nonetheless, Tom! I've had PF for years. I finally got inserts to go with the stretching and it has made all the difference. Hope the new routine helps you stay ahead of it!

You are so committed, Tom! Jump on that Plantar F. or it can last a very long time, as I am sure you know! What an amazing run today.

Ugh, was hoping that your diagnosis was not going to be PF Tom - but at least now you know what you are dealing with --- if this was easy, everybody would do it. You are very disciplined Tom and know your body well, if anyone is going to manage this situation well, it is you. Hang in there my man.

That is one very long tempo, Tom! You were close on your splits- you should feel good about that run! Sorry about the PF, but I'm glad nothing was broken. The two things that have helped me are stretching my feet and calves and rolling my feet over a frozen water bottle.
