great Living room spin 18.9 mi 01:00 03:10 pace

Cycled while on the tube, Michael and Vito Corleone did that thing they do. Kept it in a lower HR zone, just to keep the legs limber during taper week.

  2. Not sure if this is kosher, but I'm passionate about animal welfare, so I'm posting a link to my charity page for next week's Austin Marathon:

great Last group run before marathon 7.03 mi 01:05 09:11 pace

Nice & easy run with my charity group, the weather never got above 40° F today! We ran the northernmost 7 miles of the marathon course, basically mile 15-22. Just a few easy runs before next wee... read more

  4. RUN
good Tempo on trail 4.52 mi 00:38 08:21 pace

Schedule says 4mi tempo, felt like throwing an extra mile in. Ran on trails again. Less mud but still a challenging surface for quality workouts.

  5. RUN
    great 4mi dog jog 4.02 mi 00:37 09:10 pace

Took dogs out for a quick spin around the neighborhood greenbelt. No drama today. Besides the normal muddy dogs.

  6. RUN
    alright 5x1000, dogs, mud 5.67 mi 00:59 10:23 pace

Decided to try my 5x 1KM intervals on the trails instead of driving to the track. Goal pace 7:25, but:

Tom - couldn't help but laugh reading this. Sounds like you got some quality running in with some quality "time" out on the trail with the pups. Pretty impressive paces to be honest on a not so fast surface. Nice job Tom! Race in about 12 days :)

great Dog jog 3.51 mi 00:32 09:06 pace

Muddy trails, muddy dogs. Didn't have much time for the pooches today because I went to my physio. Plantar fasciitis almost feels normal, apparently the calves that caused it in the first place nee... read more

  8. RUN
    great 14 miles 14.09 mi 02:14 09:30 pace

Felt great to get out and put some slow easy miles on the legs, ran with my charity group & chatted with some folks whose slow runs are about the same as mine. I'm very excited for them; they'r... read more

  9. RUN
good Town Lake trail 5.05 mi 00:44 08:47 pace

Trails in my neighborhood are still too muddy, so ran from the office. Already upset about tomorrow's long run only being 14 miles, so I guess there's the taper madness coming on. Happy Friday DMers!

  10. RUN
    good 10K tempo run 6.2 mi 00:51 08:17 pace

Started out with dogs on trails, but slogging through with mud caked on my shoes doesn't allow for a decent tempo run. Dropped them off at 3mi and finished up running around the block instead.

  11. RUN
    good Yasso 800s 9.64 mi 01:25 08:46 pace

Tough workout, as in the last five days I have now done a 21-miler, a half marathon at 20 seconds faster than MGP, and now 10x800 at faster than 10K pace. Workouts get much, much easier from here o... read more

    great 3M Half Marathon 13.21 mi 01:49 08:15 pace

Fantastic race, Tom! To smile through a half marathon is a great accomplishment, and to feel like you have to hold back, even at the end, is awesome. Great pace!

good Twice around Town Lake 21.04 mi 03:17 09:21 pace

  15. FIT
good Stationary bike 18.5 mi 01:00 03:14 pace

Kept it easy, moving 20-mile run up to tomorrow morning, as weekend has 3M half marathon on Sunday. Burning a day off to run a 20-miler. I wonder: does that sound like a valid use of a vacation day?

  16. RUN
    4x (1200m, :60r, 400m) intervals 7.51 mi 01:06 08:43 pace

Four sets of 1200m @10K pace, 60-second recover, 400m @5k pace with 3:00 recover between each set. Not really sure what those paces are, so I decided to make them 7:45 and 7:30. Didn't kill myself,... read more

Still a successful run,Tom! Pace is pretty good for being totally out of your normal pre run routine, not to mention being up at 3am, and in the dark, without a proper breakfast....
Good thing you got that PF early. Hope it's not going to be a problem for you.

Sunny & cold, temps in the 30s °F. Took this at a "run forever" pace. Really need to get my foot x-rayed, but I don't want to be told not to run my marathon, 4 weeks this Sunday. Blah.

I know what you mean...2 weeks before my half in October was when I had to call it quits for my knee. Make sure you take care of yourself. You don't want to injure yourself and not be able to run again...
