  1. VELO
    great Veloway 24.25 mi 01:26 17.0mph pace

The Veloway is a closed 3-mile loop. Alternated easy/harder laps, wanted to do sub-10:00 for laps 2, 4, and 6. I did them in 9:32, 9:43, and 9:43. Will reset this goal to see if I can get some 9:30... read more

That's who he is! I always see coyotes, roadrunners, and rabbits, but I never see any of the other Looney Tune characters!

  2. RUN
great Dog jog 3.25 mi 00:36 11:00 pace

    4/1 intervals, really easy after yesterday's 20.
Took Molly and Katie out on the trails so they could poop and chase rabbits.

  3. RUN
    Mueller & Duval 20.02 mi 03:33 10:38 pace

My old running group was doing 10, so I did their loop twice. Ran the first one with some old friends who trained for the 2012 Austin Marathon with me, so it was nice to catch up. The plan said to ... read more

Trails tempo run 6.01 mi 00:57 09:30 pace

4 tempo miles at 9:13, on trail with dogs. Katie gave up and went home after 3. I always worry that a coyote will eat her, but as usual she was waiting on the front step when Molly and I got home.... read more

My dog growing up was the same way. I'd loose her halfway through my walk or run, and she'd always meet me at this circle entrance on the way back home. Back in the pre-leash days out in the burbs/country. Glad you had a nice stead tempo.

You and the dogs really have a great routine going. Fantastic tempo today - so tough in the heat.

Katie goes home without you? too hot for her? Or, is dad really in better shape than his furry daughter?

@Alan , it's honestly not covered with shad trees, so it can get hot later in the morning. And there are a LOT of cyclists and strolling families, which is very good for our city and our trail, but not so easy to navigate when you've got 15 miles on tired legs! But all that is infinitely better than a beat-up sidewalk next to heavy/fast traffic!

Well, we sure could use more! The Veloway is a 3-mile loop that only allows cyclists and rollerbladers. But once you're out in the hill country, there sure are enough open roads to keep you busy!

    4x 500m, starting roughly on 10:00 intervals.
Better than the 4,000 calorie BBQ lunch that my office mates did. Well, better in the long term. In the short term, I miss that BBQ.
