I want to punch your asthma square in the face...and then give you a hug. Makes me want to go out and run a few miles HARD in your honor the next time I'm out there. Don't worry about over-sharing, it's nice to hear from you even though it's not necessarily a pleasant update. Do your best to remain patient, hopeful, and work through these medical issues! Running and dailymile will wait for you!

This is probably an overused metaphor- but adjust and maximize the hand you've been dealt. Do what you can, perhaps some alternative workouts (i.e. extra strength training), and be strong for someone else! It motivates everyone when someone overcomes their challenges!

Never downplay something that seems so important to you! The human body is capable of great things. The human brain is capable of making it hard. Keep it up, that 1 mile is farther than most people walk in a day.

Ugh, ruptured tendons and injured joints sounds like a frightening risk to me, BUT...what if you do things your body is already reasonably comfortable with, like light yoga, and are careful to not push yourself. Did the doctor mean no exercise at all or no intense exertion? I mean, walking is a form of exercise, but not so much for someone who's accustomed to running 50 miles a week.
