great had to find some dirt :) 4.08 mi 00:35 08:34 pace

The dirt trails were still icy and snow packed and I could not run on the roads again (too hard on the body in my opinion) but lucky for me there's a series of dirt roads (about 1.5 miles) so I just looped up and down the dirt roads. Road running is the death of many runners in my opinion so I limit my hard surface running. It felt great to be back on the dirt. It was pretty cold so I opted for a short maintenance run but it was worth it.

Go for it Harry, dirt is better than hard road surfaces.

Nice 4 miles Harry! I have been hitting as much dirt/snow as I can this week, and it has really been nice. Much easier on my shins, but the uneven ground is surely giving my feet and calves an amazing workout!!

I love getting out in the cold for a run. I don't love getting cold myself, but if I'm dressed right, it's so invigorating. We have a lot of dirt roads around here, but they all surround flat fields. I get so tired of running on them that I end up on hard surfaces most of the time. :(

@Sheldon, if you master running on uneven surfaces you will develop very flexible ankles which is awesome for running

@Lydia, I am spoiled with 100+ miles of dirt trails heading all over the place :)
