I do not enjoy even a mild headwind. Hear that, wind controller guy?
Tried out the new Garmin Edge 705 today. Last night I attempted to set up the cadence sensor thing. Total bust. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I can get the light to flash green for the magnet on the spoke, but no way can it get it to flash red when the crank arm passes the sensor. It was driving me crazy. Even put in a new battery - no dice. The crank arm just seems too far away.
Might have to suck it up and get a professional to install it. *sigh* Girl power fail.

There was an annoying headwind out there today for sure!!

i had the same issue w my 305. i placed rubber underneath the sensor on the crank arm and zip tied them together. you have to get them very close to each other

An excuse to ride to the bike shop? Why are you resisting?

Try resetting the sensor. It doesnt flash red every time...

@bernard it doesn't flash red at all. Even with the sensor right up next to it. I did reset it, but someone also told me it might still be taking the reading, so I'll give it another go tonight.

@kris I'll have to go soon anyway - crash bike monkeying lessons to organize!

I think mine flashed red once, that was it... and then I got the "calculated wheel size" when I started riding, so I knew it was working. So your friend might be right, still might be taking the reading.

janeen...i had to set up my cadence/wheel sensor so that it was no straight on the chainstay. essentially the body leans towards the wheel, and then i angle the arm towards the crank. this way both of the sensors end up very close to the magnets.

Thanks @john. Problem is that the inside magnet is SUPER close to the sensor already. If I tilt it anything, it will hit. The crank arm magnet is about an inch and a half away from the sensor. I'm hoping that it is actually registering and just not flashing the light or that I missed it. Particularly if, like @Bernard said, it only flashes once. I just need to take it out for a ride (I removed everything before today's ride so I can't test it on tonight). Thanks for all the input everyone! Helpful!
