  1. PT 3X per week for the next 4 weeks. Therapist has asked me not to try running again for a couple more weeks, until she can get the inflammation down in my achilles. 1/2 marathon Sept 7 looking worse.

      How's your calf doing?

  2. MRI revealed calf issues are tied to my achilles, which are stretched to the brink. In the bad way. PT with the possibility of ultrasound to deliver medicine directly to tendons. Not sure what that... read more

  3. RUN
    injured Lake front/Lincoln Park 9.93 mi 01:28 08:51 pace

Was on my way to a nice 12, til a calf popped at 9.9. Not pleased.

  4. RUN
    good Lakefront/Sheridan Road 4.27 mi 00:33 07:46 pace

Pushed my pace a little bit, and considering I did 9 yesterday, I'm very happy with this run. I have 6 weeks to get ready for my next half marathon, and I won't settle for less than a PR.

  5. RUN
    good Lakefront/Lincoln Park 9.12 mi 01:16 08:21 pace

I did not set out to let Sunday's crappy run know it doesn't define me, but that's what I did. Everything just plain felt good. Cool temps certainly helped. An encouraging 9.

  6. RUN
alright Lakefront sweatfest 4.79 mi 00:40 08:16 pace

If I'm gonna run late in the afternoon, I need to be more careful about what I eat for lunch, and when. Had to stop to keep from being sick.

  7. RUN
    Lakefront/Lincoln Park 9.52 mi 01:26 09:02 pace

Miserable run. Felt sluggish throughout. Wanted at least 10; at 9.5, I gave up.
Signed up yesterday for a half in early September. I have a lot of work to do.

  8. RUN
    alright Lakefront 4.4 mi 00:36 08:12 pace

Short run ahead of what I hope will be double digits this weekend.

  9. RUN
good Lakefront Path 5.25 mi 00:42 08:04 pace

Warmed up with a 7-mile walk that took all day.

  10. walk
    great Downtown Walkabout 7 mi

Estimated miles from 10am to 4pm.

  11. RUN
    alright Monday 6 6.02 mi 00:50 08:21 pace

Ran the 6th mile faster because I thought I was on my 7th mile. So here's to math...

  12. RUN
alright Glenmoor Country Club 8.05 mi 01:13 09:04 pace

Slow, hot, and hilly training run for #BabelBash cc Alek B.

  13. RUN
alright Soccer Field Speed Work 0.74 mi

5 long sprints, 2 short. Was gonna do 5 short, but had had enough after the 2nd.

  14. RUN
alright Lakefront Path 4.13 mi 00:34 08:08 pace

    Not bad.

  15. RUN
    good 8.06 mi 01:08 08:24 pace

Running on flat, sea-level surfaces again. Feels good not to be out of breath after the first quarter-mile. Still, I'd love to see the effects on me of long-term altitude running.

  16. FIT
great Vail Mountain 3.6 mi 02:38 43:53 pace

Glorious hike. Not as far as we were hoping to go, but scenery and being out of breath kinda got in the way.

  17. RUN
alright Gore Creek Trail 2.26 mi 00:21 09:11 pace

Short afternoon run so the altitude doesn't think I'm defeated. My first twofer in forever.

  18. RUN
alright Vail Village 3 mi 00:29 09:49 pace

Scenery is the enemy of a good run. Also, altitude. Also, hills. Though this run was much flatter than yesterday. Kept it to 3 in hopes of doing another short run later today. We shall see.

Colorado is beautiful. I lived there for two years and still miss it regularly. Nice work today!

  19. RUN
tired Gore Creek Trail 4.14 mi 00:42 10:10 pace

Wow. I was warned about running at elevation. Combine that with actual hills, and this was humbling.

  20. RUN
    alright Lakefront path/Lincoln Park 7.53 mi 01:05 08:35 pace

First 3 miles: "It's not nearly as hot as I expected.
Last 4+ miles: "Am I in the desert?"
