  1. RUN
great Perry Crk - Riverfront 12.81 mi 02:00 09:21 pace

Nice long run with Marty H. and met up with Jay M. and Mike M. There was a lot of melting snow but the trails were mostly just a little wet. We had a great time.

  2. RUN
    good Treadmill 3 mi 00:24 08:00 pace

Quick run before work. I'm hoping for an outdoor run this weekend ... if the ice melts enough.

  3. RUN
    great Treadmill 5 mi 00:41 08:08 pace

Easy treadmill run: 1 mile @ 7mph, 2 miles @ 8mph, 2 miles @ 7mph. I'm still trying to take it easy while not letting the mileage slip to nothing. :-)

You are lucky that you can run on a treadmill. I can't. So I either need to run outside or, as I will do tomorrow, I run around in circle on an indoor track.

We bought a cheap treadmill for the basement, but it's nice when the weather is nasty. It definitely beats those 1/10-mile tracks!

Good treadmill work; fine balance trying to maintain fitness but not push too hard while recovering.

I bundled up and did a slow early run through Adams Park to bear the snow storm. I've been fatigued all week from the 10K last Saturday, so I've been taking it easy and just walking on th... read more

    good Coca-Cola Classic 10K 6.21 mi 00:42 06:45 pace

It was a windy and cool race at the Coca-Cola Classic today, and I had more competition than last year. I came in 5th and won my age group in the 10K. I also got lots of photos for the MMR Newslett... read more

  7. RUN

good Stone Park steep dirt trails 8.3 mi 01:11 08:35 pace

Julia H. and I ran the hills of Stone Park, though not together. It was a cold windy morning, but the trees and hills gave us some protection. I felt pretty good, even on the hills, but the joints ... read more

I ran four ½-mile repeats on track in 3:06, 3:10, 3:14, and 3:13, with ¼-mile jogging rests plus a couple miles of warm-up and cool-down. I lost steam on the speed, but otherwise it was a good run.... read more

great Des Moines Half Marathon 13.11 mi 01:32 07:00 pace

It was a beautiful day for a race. New records were set by men and women in the marathon. I was glad I downgraded from the full to the half because I've been training less than 20 miles/week d... read more

Nice job. I am glad your knee didn't affect you in the race and I hope you will be back in shape for a marathon in the spring or whenever you will run your next one.

  15. RUN
    good Lakeshore-Streeter loop 3.68 mi 00:26 07:00 pace

  16. RUN
    good Lakeshore-Derby Loop 5.15 mi 00:42 08:09 pace

Eclipse run! I watched it peak and start to retreat while I was running. My legs were achy so I took this run easy.

Thanks Dave. I downgraded to the Des Moines half because injuries have kept my training mileage way down, and my body needs a longer break before another marathon. I registered for Boston, so training will resume in earnest come January!
