great Des Moines Half Marathon 13.11 mi 01:32 07:00 pace

It was a beautiful day for a race. New records were set by men and women in the marathon. I was glad I downgraded from the full to the half because I've been training less than 20 miles/week d... read more

Nice job. I am glad your knee didn't affect you in the race and I hope you will be back in shape for a marathon in the spring or whenever you will run your next one.

    good Lakeshore-Streeter loop 3.68 mi 00:26 07:00 pace

  6. RUN
    good Lakeshore-Derby Loop 5.15 mi 00:42 08:09 pace

Eclipse run! I watched it peak and start to retreat while I was running. My legs were achy so I took this run easy.

  7. RUN
alright Adams Park Full Loop 9.85 mi 01:16 07:45 pace

I had a nice morning run through Adams Park and had the whole place to myself. I had trouble trying to build up my speed, though. The knee is still a problem but not too painful. I'm running t... read more

Thanks Dave. I downgraded to the Des Moines half because injuries have kept my training mileage way down, and my body needs a longer break before another marathon. I registered for Boston, so training will resume in earnest come January!

  10. RUN
good Dakota Valley High School Track 5.85 mi 00:41 07:02 pace

Ran 1½-mile warm-up, then ran 4 ½-mile repeats in 3:11, 3:10, 3:11, and 3:10 with ¼-mile jogging rests, then ran 1¼-mile cool-down. This is a slight improvement over two weeks ago. At my peak I was... read more

    good Lakeshore-Derby Loop 5.15 mi 00:38 07:23 pace

Thanks Dave. I'm registered for the Des Moines Marathon Oct. 19th but will probably just do the half. I'm thinking of Boston in the Spring. I'll probably do a couple shorter MRR races too.

I am running the Twin Cities again this year. I should run Des Moines one of these years, I was asked at the last minute to pace it a couple years ago, but I passed on the opportunity. But it sounds like a nice race.
