My goal was 10-12 miles with at least a 10:40 pace. I accomplished both. I also discovered how far I can go without fluids/fuel - hit the wall about 8 1/2 miles in. I didn't want to wear my fuel belt because it was so humid out and I definitely didn't want to take my hand-held. The last 2 miles were tough, but I managed. There were some good sized hills along the way, but the one that I was worried about wasn't nearly as steep as I thought it was once I actually got up to it - it was just long and gradual - about 3/4 mile. Here are my splits:
Mile 1 - 10:45, mile 2 - 10:32, mile 3 - 10:40, mile 4 - 10:36, mile 5 - 10:34, mile 6 - 10:16, mile 7 - 10:31, mile 8 - 10:37, mile 9 - 11:11 (see? hit the wall.), mile 10 - 11:02, last .68 - 7:07 (10:26 pace).
Overall, I'm really happy with this run. It's my longest run since my half marathon in March and will probably be my longest run until my half marathon in 2 weeks. Next week I'll probably do 9-10. I'm glad I know how far I can go without fluids/fuel, at least in conditions such as this morning - low 70s and 100% humidity.
