Do you have a secret for turning a boring long run into something at least a little more fun?

Run on a trail, preferably with lots of elevation change. Never, ever, gets boring :D

thanks all :) about the knee: i think i need to get some new shoes and do strength training on the legs again. whenever i let the latter one slip i start noticing the knee again.
@joanette & @vern - might just have to get some sort of light. sounds fun :)
